Pls Help. 4 days HK Itinerary with 1 yr-old Baby

by Ann M.
(Manila, Philippines)

Hi! We will be visiting HK for the first time this coming March 23 to 26, 2012 to celebrate my son's 1st birthday in Disneyland. We need help in planning an itinerary which is somewhat child-friendly as we will bring our son with us in all our trips. We are a total of 3 adults & 1 kid.

We'll be arriving at the airport on Mar 23 at 7:40AM and departure is on Mar 26 at 7:30PM. We'll be staying at Kings De Nathan Hotel in Yau Ma Tei.

We would like to visit the ff places:
Ocean Park
Disneyland
The Peak
Avenue of the Stars
Symphony of Lights
Harbour City
Sky100
Ladies Market

We prefer to visit Disneyland on our 2nd day, Mar 24, since it's my son's birthday. We are open to more suggestions for the best places to visit. We also need suggestions for the best malls or shopping areas.

We would really appreciate if you can also provide us directions on how to travel from one place to another as travelling can be a challenge because we are bringing along our baby.

THANKS IN ADVANCE! =)

Re: Ngong Ping Closed
by: HKinsider Don

Hello Ann,

Yes NP360 cable car is still closed and it should resume operation by early April 2012 but Ngong Ping Village remains opened as normal. You can still go there by taxi or by bus.

The best option of places to go instead of NP is the Citygate Outlets shopping (pls follow link for instruction in getting there) that is located in Tung Chung.

Ngong Ping Closed
by: Ann M.

Thank you so much for the response! I really appreciate the help.

As for Ngong Ping cable car, I visited their site and it says that it's currently closed for maintenance for 2 months. Can you suggest another place to visit?

Also, where is best location for outlet store shopping? Would you recommend citygate?

Thanks again!

mar25: Ngong Ping 360--> Victoria Peak (pop into Madame Tussauds)--> Ladies' Night Market

Getting to Ngong Ping: take the MTR Tsuen Wan Line going towards Tsuen Wan and get off at Lai King station. Interchange trains to the MTR Tung Chung Line towards Tung Chung and get off to that last station. Take Exit B and look for signs going to the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Terminal.

Getting to Victoria Peak, please Click Here (post dated feb 21, 2011).

Getting to the Ladies' Night Market: Get back to Central station, take the Tsuen Wan Line and get off at Mong Kok Station, exit D3. Follow directional signs to the market.

mar26: Sky 100--> HK Museums--> HK Shopping

Sky100 is located at 100th floor of Hong Kong's tallest (total height = 484 mts) building, the International Commerce Center (ICC) in Nga Cheung Road & Austin Road West, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Close to the Kowloon MTR station. It offers its visitors a 360-degree view of the city's streets, buildings, and tourist attractions.

Getting there: Take the Tsuen Wan Line going to Central. Take a short walk to the adjacent Hong Kong station. Take the Tung Chung Line going to Kowloon station, exit D2. (24 minutes @ HK$3.8).

Enjoy!

Hello Ann :)

Here's my suggested itinerary to maximize your trip.

Kings De Nathan is a 3-star hotel located at 473-473A Nathan Road (Yau Ma Tei MTR station exit C (walk 1 minute to your hotel))

mar23: Ocean Park--> Star Ferry--> Avenue of Stars--> Symphony of Lights at 8pm

Getting to Ocean Park, please Click Here.

Getting to Avenue of Stars via Star Ferry: Get back to Admiralty station and take the Island Line going to Sheung Wan and get off at Central station, exit A. Take a short walk to the Central Pier 7. Board on the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Terminal for a very scenic view at the Victoria Harbour for 9 minutes @ HK$2.5. Walk along the TST promenade to get into the Avenue of stars and stay there to watch the Symphony of Lights that starts every 8:00pm.

mar24: Disneyland (don't miss the "Disney in the Stars" fireworks at 8pm)

Getting to Disneyland: Take the Tsuen Wan Line trains heading towards Tsuen Wan and get off at Lai King station. Interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line going to Tung Chung and get of at Sunny Bay station. Finally, interchange trains to the Disneyland Resort Line that will bring you straight to Disneyland Resort station.
