"What's NEW in Hong Kong horse racing schedule?"

Tickets for Equestrian Hong Kong Olympic events.

Equestrian fans will be able to watch some of the Olympic events in Hong Kong for as little as HK$58.

The final batch of 60,000 equestrian tickets allocated to Hong Kong will go on sale starting on June 12, 2008 at prices ranging from HK$58 to HK$544 from official ticket agent China Travel Service (Hong Kong).

The cheapest are less desirable B Category seats for the dressage events in Sha Tin on August 13 and 16 and include a HK$10 handling fee.

The most expensive are Category A seats for the jumping finals, which include a HK$71 fee.

Most of the events, which take place between August 9 and 21, are priced between HK$71 and HK$285.

Each person can buy up to two tickets for each final and up to 15 tickets for other events. Tickets are sold on a first-come-first-served basis.

The relatively cheap ticket prices are comparable to those of some of the previous Olympics, including the 1996 Atlanta Games, which offered tickets for as low as US$6. But they are still more expensive than prices for events in Beijing, where tickets are as low as 30 yuan (HK$33.80) and students get a special price of 10 yuan for finals and 5 yuan for other events.

A total of about 200,000 equestrian tickets are for sale in Hong Kong, the mainland and overseas. The final batch of tickets was supposed to go on sale next month. - June 11, 2008 updates
