Rambler, TST, Macau

by Ace
(Philippines)

Good day! We'd like to ask anyone to please comment or give suggestions re our HK itinerary. Thank you.

Day 1: Check in at Rambler Garden Hotel. We availed of the hotel transfer in service. Around 3pm, we plan to go to Causeway Bay.
We want to try the tram, is it possible to ride the tram from Admiralty to Causeway Bay? If so, please show us the route.
Also, is there a catholic church in Causeway that serves mass in the afternoon or evening? How to get there?

Day 2: Compulsory tour

Day 3: Check in at Golden Crown Guesthouse. We plan to go to The Nan Lian Garden, then to The Peak, Sky Terrace, Madame Tussaud's. See the Clock Tower, Avenue of the Stars, watch Symphony of Lights then spend the rest of the night around Temple and Ladies Market.
How to go to Nan Lian Garden from Golden Crown?
Is it best to take the Star Ferry going to Central or from Central to TST?
Also, how do we go to Temple and Ladies Market from Avenue of the Stars? Should we go first to Temple then Ladies or vise versa?

Day 4: Ngong Ping Village and Citygate Mall. The rest of the day shopping around TST. How to go to the sneaker area/sneaker st? Any suggestions where to shop, especially outlet stores?

Day 5: Off to Macau in the afternoon. What would be the best way to go the ferry terminal, how much is the estimate taxi fare coming from Golden Crown?

Day 6: Macau

HOW WILL I GO TO LADIES MARKET FROM AVENUE OF STARS
by: Anonymous

Hello! I'd like to ask directions on how will I able to go to Ladies Market if I'm coming from Avenue of Stars?

My proposed IT is we will have our dinner near Avenue of Stars so we can watch symphony of lights then after that we will go to Ladies Market.

I've been searching for directions but I'm confused if it is walking distance or need to ride MTR.

Response(s) would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

---------Direction to Ladies Market From Avenue of Stars----

Dear Reader:

Do this:

Get into the nearby TST MTR station -->
take the Tsuen Wan Line train and get off at Mong Kok station Exit E2 -->
take a short distance walk to the Ladies market that is also located close to the Stanford hotel.

Hello Ace :)

Getting to the Star Ferry from Peak Tram lower terminus by bus, here's the page to read the travel guide ( post dated May 26, 2011 ).

Or, take a taxi from the Peak Tram lower terminus to the Central Pier for about 7 minutes @ HK$25. Just tell the cab driver that you're going to the Star Ferry :).

Hi Stellar,

Re: Day 3. We're thinking of riding a bus or taxi from Peak tram terminus to Star Ferry Central Pier 7. I guess this would be the better option because my companions would be too tried to walk by that time.
Where and what bus should we take to central pier 7?
Also, what taxi and what do we tell the driver? How long and how much is the estimated taxi fare.

Thank you so much.

day 4: Ngong Ping 360, and here's a travel guide in getting there from TST area.

day 5: Macau

And here's an instruction in getting to Macau from TST (post dated march 15, 2011).

It's a 5-minute taxi drive at HK$18.

I hope the above information will help you.

Hello Ace :)

Here are my recommendations.

day 1: Yes, you may board on the tram at Admiralty station. Take the one that is heading to Causeway Bay by looking at the sign in front of the tram.

Hear mass at St. Joseph's Church at Central station just beside Admiralty station.

day 3: Nan Lian Garden --> The Peak (pop into Madame Tussauds)--> Star Ferry --> Avenue of Stars --> Symphony of Lights at 8pm --> Street Markets - Temple Street & Ladies' Night Market

Getting to Nan Lian Garden: Get into the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station and take the Tsuen Wan Line train heading to Tsuen Wan and get off at Mong Kok station. Interchange trains to the Kwun Tong Line train heading towards Tiu Keng Leng station and get off at Diamond Hill station (19 minutes @ HK$6.9) and then take Exit C2. Follow directional signs for just couple of minutes walk to the garden.

Getting to the Peak: Take the Kwun Tong Line to Mong Kok station and interchange to Tsuen Wan Line to Central MTR station and then take Exit J2. Take a stroll and head towards the Peak (follow directional signs). Actually, you can walk around to see the famous HK skyscrapers and not too far away from that exit is the Peak Tram Terminus. Take the Peak Tram up to the Peak (7 minutes @ HK$40 - return ticket).

Getting to the Avenue of Stars via Star Ferry: Get back to Central station, exit A. Take a short walk to the Central Pier 7. Board on the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Terminal for a very scenic view at the Victoria Harbour for 9 minutes @ HK$2.5. Walk along the TST promenade to get into the Avenue of stars and stay there to watch the Symphony of Lights that starts every 8:00pm.

Getting to Temple Street Night Market: Get to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. Take MTR trains to Jordan station then take Exit A. Follow directional signs going to the Temple Street Night Market (3 minutes @ HK$3.8)

Getting to Ladies' Night Market: Walk 13 minutes to the market.

Head north on Temple St toward Man Ming Ln
Turn right onto Man Ming Ln
Turn left onto Nathan Rd
Turn right onto Waterloo Rd
Turn left onto Nathan Rd
Turn right onto Dundas St
Turn left onto Tung Choi St
Destination will be on the left

*Get around Sai Yeung Choi Street for shoe shopping, the street next to the Ladies' Market.
