9 day tour to HK and Macau

by Dennis
(Manila, Philippines)

Hi,

We are having a 9 day tour to HK and Macau. We are arriving to HKIA on July 2, 2011 at 9:30PM and we are staying in Lamma Island. We are starting our tour July 4. We would like to know how to get to our destinations if we are coming from Lamma Island. Please advise also the tranpo cost and tickets.

July 4 - Ngong Ping
*ride the cable car
*see the Giant Buddha
*anything else
(how do we get there from Lamma Island? where can we buy the ticket to cable car and how much? how do we get home? what else can we do there?)

July 5 - Avenue of the Stars
(how do we get there from Lamma Island? is there an entrance fee? what else can we do there as we have a whole day for that? where else can we go? )

July 6 - HK Museum of Art
(how do we get there from Lamma Island? is there an entrance fee? where else can we go?)

July 7 - The Peak
(How do we get there from Lamma Island? how much are the fees?)

July 8 - Disneyland
(How do we get there from Lamma Island?)

July 9 - Ocean Park
(How do we get there from Lamma Island?)

We still have July 10. Where can we go?

Hope you can answer all my questions ASAP.

Thank you.

Here's my personal itinerary suggestion to maximize your time in Hong Kong and how to get there.

July 4 itinerary: Lamma Island --> Ferry to Central Pier --> Ferry to Mui Wo --> bus to Ngong Ping --> Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car to Tung Chung --> MTR trains to HK Disneyland --> MTR trains to Hong Kong station --> walk to Central Pier --> Ferry back to Lamma Island

Take the Ferry from Lamma island to Central. Upon getting at Central pier (no.4), walk to the adjacent pier no.5 and take the Ferry to Mui Wo (50 minutes @ HK$14.5). Once at Mui Wo Ferry pier, walk to the nearby Mui Wo Bus terminus and then take the bus NLB 2 that will bring you to Ngong Ping (40 minutes @ HK$17.2). Please click here to read more detailed info about this route (with map).

You can spend the rest of the morning until noon to explore Ngong Ping attractions and then afternoon, take the cable car from Ngong Ping to Tung Chung (25 minutes @ HK$80, you can buy the ticket at the cable car terminal). Upon getting at Tung Chung, walk to the nearby Tung Chung MTR station and take the MTR trains to HK Disneyland, please click here for detailed instruction about getting to Hong Kong Disneyland from Ngong Ping. Stay at HK Disneyland until 8:00pm to get a chance to watch the spectacular "Disney in the Stars" fireworks show.

From Disneyland, get into the Disneyland MTR station and take the train to Sunny Bay station. Interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line going to Hong Kong station then get off to that last station (31 minutes @ HK$31.7) and take Exit F. Walk about 5 minutes towards the Central Ferry Pier and then take the Ferry back to Lamma Island at Central Pier no.4

Hi Dennis,

I am not so sure about your hotel location in Lamma but anyway, Lamma Island (third largest of the outlying islands in HK) is accessible through ferry at Central Pier in Hong Kong island (refer to the map below for location).

This means that every time you want to visit any of those Hong Kong tourist attractions that you've mentioned, you nee to take the ferry from Lamma Island to Central Pier.

There are two Ferry Pier gateways in Lamma Island namely;

* Yung Shue Wan Ferry Pier - located at Banyan Bay village, the north end of Lamma island.

Fare per trip: Mon - Sat = HK$14.5; Sun and Holidays = HK$20

Journey time: 27 minutes

Please click here to view full ferry timetable.

* Sok Kwu Wan Ferry Pier - located at Picnic Bay village, the eastern shore of a long fjord-like inlet of the island.

Fare per trip: Mon - Sat = HK$17.7; Sun and Holidays = HK$25

Journey time: 35 minutes

Please click here to view full ferry fare and timetable.

Here's the location map of the Ferry Piers mentioned above:
