Itinerary
by: Kyra

Hi,

I really need your advise on this. I will be travelling with my husband and my 3-year old daughter next year for Hong Kong. We will be arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport at 12:50am( our flight is at 11:00pm-promo tickets).

I have two possible itineraries, but I am not sure which one is possible since we only have 2 days for the trip. I would like to go to Macau from the HKIA. But first off, I would like to know if you happen to know a hotel near the airport that is not that expensive where we can check in at 1:00am? If there is none, is there a place in the airport where we can sleep?

How do we get to Macau from the HKIA? And what time can we leave from the airport to Macau?

BTW, these are my possible itineraries:

Our Flight:
to HKIA: 11:15pm(Friday)- 12:50AM(Saturday)
return flight from HKIA: 1:35am(Sunday)- 4:10am (Sunday)

Itinerary 1:
HKIA-Macau(until lunch)- Hong Kong- Ocean Park (1st Day)
- do you have any suggestion for the places that we can visit in Macau from morning to lunch?
- how do we go back to Hong Kong from Macau after lunch?
- can you recommend a hotel in Hong Kong (preferably within the City ) where we can stay from Macau so that we can check in and leave our baggage there first before we go to Ocean Park?
- how do we get to Ocean Park from the City?

Disneyland (2nd Day)
- how do we get to disneyland from the city?
- any other attractions near disneyland where we can stay for dinner before we go back to HKIA for our return flight?

Itinerary 2

HKIA- Disneyland (1st day)
- how soon can we leave from the HKIA to disneyland since we will be there in the airport from 12:50am?
- how do we get there?
- can you recommend a hotel where we can stay after disneyland?

Ocean Park and other Attractions (2nd day)
- how do we go to Ocean Park from the City?
- any other attractions that we can go after Ocean Park where we can have our dinner and easily go to HKIA after?

Please advise me on what to do. I'll greatly appreciate your reply.

Thank you so much.

almost 2 days in hongkong

hello and thank you for the very useful information provided in this thread.

I am a father and arriving with my 2 kids Boy(11)and girl(8)on Sun (7/29) 0915am and leaving Tues(7/31)9am. This has been a longtime promise to my 2 kids and I am hoping to maximize the 1.5 days in Hkg for them. the Monday full day will be spent in disneyland but i do not know where to take them the day we arrive.

Will we have time for ocean Park-shopping-the peak-sky100??? the list goes on and i m already confused, i sure don't want to exhaust the kids. is it really necessary to wait for the symphony of lights in disney? people say its a must see. i can forego ocean park on the first day.

Hope you can suggest...what if it rains???can the kids still enjoy disney? sorry for the many questions.

Thank you in advance. we will be staying in casa hotel.

NO, there's no need for you to book in advance. Most of HK attractions and food spots are in "first come, first served basis".

one more thing

Do I need to make any reservations for the above itinerary from the US? How about reservations for the lunch/dinner spot? Thanks

thanks

I appreciate the itinerary, looks excellent. Do you recommend which of those lunch tea houses you recommend? Also do you have a recommendation on an unique dinner spot. Thanks again.

Re: Please help arrange my itinerary to maximize time

Here's my personal itinerary suggestion to maximize your full-day in HK:

8:00am: tai chi lesson at TST promenade
--> 9 mins @ HK$2.5 Star Ferry ride from TST to Central
--> 13 mins @ HK$100 taxi to Aberdeen (until 11:30am)
--> back to Central for lunch at Luk Yu Tea House or Lin Heung Tea House
--> Peak tram ride to The Peak (until 2:30pm)
--> 22 mins @ HK$11.8 MTR train from Central to Wong Tai Sin Temple (until 5:00pm)
--> 17 mins @ HK$6.9 MTR ride from Wong Tai Sin to TST area (for dinner).
--> walk to the TST promenade for Avenue of Stars and to watch the Symphony of Lights show at 8:00pm
--> Walk thru to north of Nathan Road
--> Temple Night Street Market (til midnight)

Please help arrange my itinerary to maximize time

Re: 1 day in HK - no disneyland stop
by: HKinsider stellar

Hello :)

Here's my suggested itinerary to maximize your HK stay.

march 17: Symphony of Lights at 8pm --> Avenue of Stars --> Ladies' Night Market

march 18: Ngong Ping 360 --> Ocean Park --> Victoria Peak (pop into Madame Tussauds) --> Star Ferry

or

march 18: Ngong Ping 360 --> Jumbo Kingdom --> HK Museums --> Victoria Peak (pop into Madame Tussauds) --> Star Ferry

1 day in HK - no disneyland stop
by: Anonymous

We will be arriving in HK on 17 March at 17:30 and leaving 23:30 on 18 March.

Could you please help us to plan our day to take in main sites especially Victoria Peak and to take in HK atmosphere.

I have always wanted to visit so it is a pity it is such a short stay.

We are still deciding between staying in TST or HK island.

Many thanks!

Hello Mel,

Here's my personal itinerary suggestion that would maximized your time in your day trip to Hong Kong:

HK Disneyland (morning until 4:00pm) --> The Peak (until 7:00pm) --> Tsim Sha Tsui promenade to visit the Avenue of Stars and Watch the Symphony of Lights show that starts at 8:00 pm.

The getting there instruction for this route can be read in this topic - "1 day trip to Hongkong attractions"
