Re: Going for a 7 Day Trip to Hong Kong in July
by: HKinsider-don

Hi there, the above recommendation for 4 days in HK is pretty much fine to me, only you have 7 days so here's an additional list for our top rated attractions, sights, and what to do in Hong Kong.

1. Hong Kong horse racing - offers a surprisingly a very fun attraction in the city, specially a night in Happy Valley racecourse.

2. Hong Kong Museum of History - located at 100 Chatham Rd S, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon Hong Kong. Historical events were clearly explained and exhibitions were beautifully displayed.

3. Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront - Stroll along the pedestrian-only promenade at the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront and enjoy the breathtaking view of the skyline of Hong Kong Island. Good time to go is any time but best time is after dark.

4. Ladies' Market - knows as "Ladies' Street" or "Women's Street" by the locals, this is a street market that has grown from shopping grounds of locals to a hangout for both locals and tourists. T-shirts, watches, ties, jeans, towels, and a slew of low-cost items can be found there.

5. Stanley - An area with a small town feel, Stanley is away from the densely populated Hong Kong with a market and a strip of restaurants plus a small shopping center. It's now home to some nice restaurants by the sea.

6. Mongkok - A densely populated area teaming with activities day and night. Good place to go if you want to shop for consumer electronics.

7. Central District - "Central" is the central business district and location of main government buildings of Hong Kong. You can also ride the Mid-levels escalators up the hill and stop off somewhere along the way for a meal.

8. Wonderfish! Spa - a brand new wonder fish spa located at The Peak Galleria, Hong Kong. Provides a totally natural spa experience where you dip your feet into a calming pool of water containing fun and friendly Garra Rufa fish. The unique dietary habit of this species of fish is to gently suck and nibble away hard and dry skin that feels like hundreds of little fish giving you a delightful foot massage.

9. Hong Kong Star Ferry - take the famous Star Ferry for travelling across the harbour with routes between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central at Hong Kong Island and the route affording excellent harbour views is between Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai Ferry Pier next to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

10. Dialogue in the Dark Hong Kong - located in Lot 215, The Household Center, Nob Hill, 8 King Lai Path, Meifoo, Kowloon Hong Kong. An exhibition in complete darkness, that has already spanned 26 countries, and over 150 cities - with over 6 million visitors and increasing. A chance to experience Hong Kong's unseen attractions.

May you advise on the places which we should have a look in. We will be dropping by Macau on the 6 day without staying overnight there!

Hong Kong is not only packed with interesting places or spectacular views that are sure to create memories to last for a lifetime but also remember this city life is remarkable and well known as the;

Shopping paradise in asia - delight in the rich shopping opportunities, get the latest, luxurious, brand name styles in upscale shopping malls and uncover the hidden bargain in quint street markets.

Dining - fulfill your desires in the culinary capital of asia.

Night life entertainment - where you can find a place that fits your mood, happening bars, neighborhood pubs, funky nightclubs, hostess bars, and sophisticated wine bars.

The must-go places when you were in Hong Kong would be: (either Disneyland or Ocean park requires full day to get the most of it)

1. Victoria peak - take the tram to the peak, good for shopping, beautiful 360 view of Hong Kong at night and day.

2. Stanley and Repulse bay (very near each other)- shop at the Stanley market and relax on Repulse bay.

3. Ocean Park (amusement park) - amusement park with many roller coaster type rides and many exotic sea creatures.

4. Disneyland - you can finish playing the whole park in half day during weekdays.

5. Tsim Sha Tsui (beautiful sea view) - ride across the harbor at night on the star ferry, enjoy view, harbor city (biggest shopping center), symphony of light show at 7:30pm every night, color lights on the buildings.

6. Ladies' market - experience hong kong open street markets, not just for ladies, you can find things for a bargain

7. Ngong Ping 360 = The longest cable car ride in Asia, you could spend time at the big Buddha if you wish to.

Going to Macau should have at least 1 day.
