Founded in 2010 by nightlife enthusiasts, Hong Kong Pub Crawl has been redefining nightlife ever since. Hong Kong Pub Crawl's tours are famous for their excellent drink deals, off-the-beaten-track venues, and being the best way to meet like-minded travelers from Hong Kong and all around the world.
Things got serious when founders of Hong Kong Pub Crawl noticed a lack of budget-friendly nightlife options in Hong Kong, especially for tourists. People might think of Hong Kong nightlife fraught with champagne, fancy nightclubs, and flashy glamor.
However, not everyone can or want to spend exorbitant amounts of money for the "Crazy Rich Asians" lifestyle. With over 4.7 million incoming tourists per year, we wanted to offer an option for locals and tourists to party together and explore the best of Hong Kong bars without paying an arm and a leg for entry fee and drinks.
The Horse Races Crawl is held every race night from 7pm on Wednesdays at the Happy Valley Racecourse in partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), touring through the iconic horse races in Happy Valley followed by a pub crawl in the Wan Chai bar district.
Once you enter the Racecourse, you will be given 3 betting sheets and 1 beer voucher. Hong Kong Pub Crawl's signature Lan Kwai Fong (LKF) Crawl in Central runs every Thursday from 9pm and they go through Hong Kong's SOHO and LKF bar districts.
Both crawls are priced at $100 each, which includes their exclusive drink deals and free entry to the Happy Valley Racecourse or finaly nightclub, depending on which crawl you sign up for.
Each bar provides a welcome shot for everyone. Crawl participants enjoy a discounted price for the following drinks: $40 for 2 beers, $30 for signature cocktails - bear in mind to ask for the special menu as each bar has their very own.
The group spends about an hour at each bar and typically takes 10 minutes to go from bar to bar. The staff is very organized and friendly. They would go around to inform participants when it is time to go, make sure they go in the right direction, as well as keep them engaged.
I am very satisfied with the selection of bars as they each have a different vibe and atmosphere, allowing you to have a wholesome nightlife experience. They are great places to socialize with different people and play some fun drinking games.
It is a great opportunity to meet different kinds of people and spend a fun night with them, creating lasting friendships and eventful memories.
Free-entry clubbing with free drinks at the end adds an extra spice to the whole crawl experience. There will also be a professional photographer during every event to take your photos. You can find photos of your crawl on their Facebook Page.
Of all the bars I have been on both crawls, HQ by Terrace Concept and VAULT were my favorite.
HQ by Terrace Concept is a bar on the 3rd floor in an office building and has a small terrace overlooking the street. The terrace is an area where you can enjoy a cigarette or two and is pretty unique feature for a bar in Lan Kwai Fong.
Apart from reasonably priced drinks, there are also several really cool electric beer pong tables. The whole place is spacious enough that most people can find a seat. This bar is a hidden gem high and above other mediocre touristy bars in Lan Kwai Fong.
VAULT is another bar in the middle of Lan Kwai Fong that is also situated in an office building. This place is smaller compared to HQ by Terrace Concept. However, the music and the vibe are a lot more hyped up.
The dj there really knows how to read the crowd. Drinks are as good as the other one but games are not available due to limited space. This is definitely a good place to warm you up before the nightclub.
For the nightclub, we went to one of the most famous clubs in Hong Kong, which is also in the middle of Lan Kwai Fong. It is free entry with the pub crawl wristband (normally it is $300 for guys and $150 for girls).
I quite like this club since it has ample space and reasonably priced drinks (if you want to order more). If you enjoy the music and enjoy the dance floor, the club experience provided by the crawl will be perfect for you.
Their pub crawls are the largest mobile parties in Hong Kong and has to be seen to be believed. A great time for locals and travellers alike, Hong Kong Pub Crawl should definitely be on your bucket list. For more information, please visit www.hongkongpubcrawl.com.
