Macau -> Hong Kong -> Macau

by Kym
(Malaysia)

Hi there,

I've been planning for my itinerary to Macau and Hong Kong with my parents but not sure which are the best/cheapest plan/route that I should use. So I really hope you can help me by providing some suggestions to my itinerary below and also maximize our trip.

I've already booked my hotel as below:
25-27 Mar - Riveria Hotel, Rua Comendador Kou Ho Neng No 7-13, Macau City
27-31 Mar - L'hotel Island South, 55 Wong Chuk Hang Rd, Hong Kong Island South
31Mar - 1Apr - Best Western Taipa hotel, Estrada Governador Nobre Carvalho, No.822, Taipa / Cotai

25 Mar - Arrive in Macau Airport at 5:15PM and check-in hotel. Should I take a taxi to the hotel? I happened to see a comment from website that there's free bus between hotel and Airport?
There's shuttle bus provided by the hotel, so we'll just take the shuttle to visit some of the casinos at night to watch the performance (eg: Wynn Macau, MGM Grand Macau, Sands Macau)

26 Mar - Planning to buy 'See Macau Pass' from this website - http://seehongkongpass.iventurecard.com/packages/see-macau-pass/ and uses these 3 offers: TurboJet (HK-Macau route) free 1 way, Macau Tower, Open Top Bus Tour. Total price = HKD 251 (website offer) + additional return ticket HKD 163 = HKD 414. Is this recommended?
Night time visit casino again for shows.

27 Mar - Take ferry (TurboJet) to Sheung Wan, HK Island in morning (around 8AM). From Sheung Wan, would it be better to take taxi to hotel since we have luggage? How much does it cost? After leaving the luggage, visit Ocean Park full day. Around 6pm go back hotel to check-in and take the hotel free shuttle
bus to Causeway Bay to find food and shop around.
- Visit Stanley Market at night?

28 Mar - Take free shuttle to Causeway Bay, visit Ngong Ping Village. Since the cable car is on maintenance, they have advised to take New Lantau bus No.23 from Tung Chung Station. However I've seen that this is not recommended since the bus is stopping 40 stations? So the best way is take taxi from Tung Chung MTR station to Ngong Ping Village? Any recommendations on what to do in the evening?

29 Mar - Take free shuttle from hotel to Causeway Bay to tour around. I'm not sure if I should take 'Ding Ding Tram' to experience the local life (http://www.discoverhongkong.com/tramguide/eng/listing.jsp (HKD 2.30)) or I should take this http://www.rickshawbus.com/en/about/index.html (HKD 50 per day, unlimited rides) or http://www.bigbustours.com/eng/hongkong/custompage.aspx?id=tickets%20and%20prices (1 day USD 45, 2 days USD 45)
At around 3pm visit The Peak -> Madame Tussauds

29 Mar - Again take free shuttle to Causeway Bay and travel to TST, Kowloon to shop around, if purchase the Big Bus Tour (2 days), then I'll follow the day and night tour. Otherwise it will be (not sure if the order is OK):
Avenue of Stars -> Ladies Market -> Symphony of Lights @ 8pm -> Lan Kwai Fong -> Temple Street Night Market

31 Mar - Since it's a Sat, it's best advise to travel in the morning back to Macau?
Reach Macau around 11am, leave luggage at hotel. I'm planning to visit Macau Giant Panda Pavilion.
In the evening shop around for souvenirs.

* I'm not sure if I should include DisneyLand into my itinerary? Would it be too rush?

I apologize for such messy itinerary :p

Thanks in advance!!

Hello Kym :)

Here's my suggested itinerary to maximize your trip.

mar 27: Ocean Park--> Causeway Bay shopping

Getting to your hotel from Sheung Wan by taxi would take 14 minutes at HK$74.25.

After having dinner at Causeway Bay, you may stay there and shop around because Stanley Market would close earlier compared to other night markets.

mar 28: Ngong Ping 360--> Victoria Peak (pop into Madame Tussauds)--> Star Ferry--> Avenue of Stars--> Symphony of Lights at 8pm

Yes, take a taxi from Tung Chung Town Centre to Ngong Ping Village for 34 minutes at HK$70.75.

mar 29: Disneyland (don't miss the "Disney in the Stars" fireworks at 8pm)--> Ladies' Night Market

mar 30: HK Museums--> Jade Market--> Temple Street--> Jumbo Kingdom--> Lan Kwai Fong

Hope it's not too late..
