How to get to H.K. Commercial Inn at Mongkok from Macau?

by Liz
(Malaysia)

Hi,

My family and I (2 adults & 3 children) will be taking the ferry from Macau over to Hong Kong from Nov 4th.

We will be staying 2 nights at H.K. Commercial Inn's Sincere House at 83 Argyle Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Then 1 more night at Disneyland Hollywood Hotel before we proceed to Hong Kong Airport.

My question is:
1. how do I get from Hotel Casa Real Macau to Macau Ferry Terminal?
2. How do I get from Macau Ferry Terminal to my accommodation at Mongkok?
3. How much is the ferry ticket for adult and child from Macau to HK?
4. How do I get from my accommodation at Mongkok to Ocean Park, Avenue of Stars& Symphony of Lights and The Peak?
5. How do I get from Mongkok to Disneyland?
5. How much is a 2 day pass at Disneyland for adult and children? Any family package?

Thank you.
Liz

Mongkok, HongKong in 2 days
by: Liz

Dear Meg,

Seems to me like you're cramming too much into 2 days especially as you're on your honeymoon. Hurrying from one venue to another may dampen your honeymoon. Disneyland requires 1 day as you need to queue up for the rides and you definitely wanna catch the parade as well as fireworks at abt 7pm. Avenue of Stars ideally you'd wanna reach there 1 hour before sunset to take good photos but you'd also wanna hang around to enjoy the laser show at 8pm at the same venue. Nothing great about the night markets as prices are exorbitant if you're not good at bargaining. Bangkok or Malaysia is more shopping haven.

I didn't cover Ngong Ping as it is just a cable car ride with seafood dinner at the village. I've experienced similar cable car ride with good view and additional suspended bridge walk at Langkawi, Malaysia. Food is cheaper too. But you definitely wanna go to The Peak - spectacular view & photo taking opportunity. But the tram ride to the top requires long queue too- you're short on that as well. Perhaps take the tram up but take the bus down hill.

The place we stayed was really budget if you don't mind double deckers in rooms that are located in old apartments. But Sincere House at Mongkok is really central- you just step out, cross the road & into the MTR station. Food is abundant too at abt HK$23 to 30+ again at restaurant Happy nearby. We paid HK$500 for a family room-4 double deckers, mind you. Space is precious here. There are many hostel in this old building. You can google it on internet. Enjoy your honeymoon, ok!

2 day trip to HK
by: Meg

Hi Sir,

Good day!
I will be traveling with my husband 2 days in HK from Macau via HK-Macau ferry. We will be arriving HK via ferry at early morning from macau and we would like to spend 2 days & 2 nights to HK and back early to Macau at the following day.

Places we plan to go: 1.HK Disneyland 2. Ngong Peak 360 3. The peak 4. Avenue of the Stars 5. Night Market

Could you please give us narrative itinerary to make our honeymoon getaway a memorable one (how to get there and maximize our time and place to visit & of course we're on a tight budget ).

We plan to stay and still looking for affordable hostel in Mongkok. Any suggestion would help and most welcome.

Thank you and Hoping to get reply from you as soon as possible because where about to leave 2 weeks from now.

How many ferry services from Macau to Hongkong?
by: HKinsider Don

Hi Liz,

Yes, there are also ferries from Macau Ferry Terminal going to China Hong Kong Ferry Terminal located at TST. For service hours and fare details of these two ferry routes from Macau to Hong Kong, please click here and scroll down to the post dated "May 30, 2011" on that page.

Ferry to Sheung Wan is definitely more efficient, more frequent, 24 hrs service, and the MTR train station is directly connected to the terminal.

The China Hong Kong Ferry Terminal (yellow marker on top-left of the map below) is just a little bit far, about 6 minutes walk to the TST MTR station.

Sometimes you can find private vans upon exit at Ferry Terminal but it is not recommended for safety reasons.

Thank you for your good advice.

Beside the Macau ferry that stops at Sheung Wan, is there another ferry that stop at Harbour City Mall? A friend suggested this ferry stop, then walk to tsim Sa Tsui MTR station and take MTR to Mongkok MTR.

Which way is faster/better? How regular is the Macau ferry schedule? I mean, is the ferry available every half hour? Is it less frequent in the evening or night? As I may decide to take a late ferry over to Hong kong if I cant finish my sightseeing in Macau.

Are there any private van that charge a small fee to bring a family on a Macau city tour?

How to get to H.K. Commercial Inn at Mongkok from Macau?

Hello Liz,

Casa Real Hotel Macau is rated 4-star hotel conveniently located at Avenida Do Dr. Rodrigues No 1118, Macau, China. It is only about 5 minutes walk to the Macau Ferry Terminal and there's also a hotel shuttle bus that serves between the hotel and ferry terminal.

I would suggest you take the ferry going to Sheung Wan, Hong Kong Island to get an easy access to MTR trains. Ferry travel time is about 55 mins @ HK$141 and children below 12 yrs old may enjoy HK$15 off per ticket.

Sincere House is located at 83 Argyle Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong and just a block away from the Mong Kok MTR station Exit D2.

Upon arrival at Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan, get into the nearby Sheung Wan MTR station --> take the train and get off at Central station --> interchange trains to the Tsuen Wan Line and get off at Mong Kok station Exit D2 (16 mins @ HK$9.9) --> take a minute of walk to the Sincere House.

Getting to the popular attractions from Sincere House is quite easy, just think of the nearby Mong Kok MTR station as your access point.

Please click here (scroll down to the post dated "Jun 28, 2011" on that page) to read how to get there instruction from Mong Kok station to the most popular HK attractions.

For HK Disneyland, you can visit the Park twice with the "2-Day Ticket", any 2 days within a 7-day period of time.

Ticket Type: 2-Day Ticket
General Admission Ticket (aged 12-64) = HK$499
Child Ticket (aged 3-11) = HK$355
Senior Ticket (aged 65 or above) = HK$170
Ticket Validity End Date: March 31, 2012

===========

Ticket Type: 1-Day Ticket
General Admission Ticket (aged 12-64) = HK$399
Child Ticket (aged 3-11) = HK$285
Senior Ticket (aged 65 or above) = HK$100
