5 hrs layover at HKIA
by: alliah

hi...
my husband, me, and our 3 years old son we'll be having 5 hrs. layover since were arriving to hongkong in june 1, at 10:45am and departing at 4;30 pm were planning to visit disneyland.

-should we prepare the cab or the mtr?
-and how much will it cost us? travel and ticket expenses. thanks

Response to 5 hours Layover at HKIA

Dear Alliah:

Thanks for your thoughts and comments!

Regarding your June 1st layover, i would NOT recommend taking the risk of missing your flight.

You have just 5 hours hours, that meanings you will need to reserve 2 hours to be at airport for check-in, minimum 2 - 3 hours travel time to disneyland to-and-fro. That leaves you time for nothing else, and no margin for uncertainties.

Doing this with a 3 years old.

I suggest you reschedule things to give you more layover time i.e 10 hours or book a flight to HK purposely for Disneyland.

Either way, enjoy your trip and your stay in beautiful Hong Kong.

HKIA Layover

HKIA to Disneyland
by: Julianna

Hello there,

Me, my husband and my 6yrs daughter.will have a 12 hours lay-over at hongkong international airport before going to our connecting flight to Philippines.

Since it's too long waiting in the airport we are planning to spend some 6hrs in the Disneyland, can i have your advice if that would be possible and what is the most easiest way of travel getting in to and from the airport.

And what is the ticket cost for disneyland, can i buy ticket on the spot in the ticket counter in disneyland.

I'm bit of afraid because maybe we lost were not familiar in that place first time to go to Disneyland. Kindly advise. Thank you!

thanks in advance.

---------------------------------------

Response to HKIA 12 hours layover to Disneyland

Dear Julianna:

Yes, your Hong Kong Disneyland visit is very doable with your 12 hours stopover at HKIA.

The ideal transportation method will be a taxi for about 20 mins drive from HK airport straight to Disneyland @ HK$130.

But you may want budget 2 hrs for the back and forth transportation to give allowance to your departure time.

So plan to spend at most 6 hours at Disneyland and not more than that.

You can find more detailed HKIA 12 hours layover itineray, maps and fares on this page

HI! just would like to thank the admin for this website coz it help me and my friend a lot when we visited HK last feb 11, 2011.

its been a year now but still the memories are still fresh.love to go back to HK for another adventure. Just an advice, don't go to HK without any bookings from a hotel or pension house coz the immigration will question and hold u for like 5-10 mins, if they are not satisfied they will not allow you to travel based on our experience last year, good thing i had an address of the sister's convent in HK. Thus, next time ill visit HK ill make sure i already have a place to stay.

Thank you again!

re: gateway hong kong shopping mall to the peak
by: hKinsider Don

I assume that you're referring to The Gateway, Hong Kong which is part of Harbour City, a shopping centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

From the mall, you can take a stroll to the nearby TST Ferry Pier and take the Star Ferry to Central (9 mins @ HK$2.5) --> walk to the nearby Central Pier Bus terminal --> take the bus 15C to the Peak Tram (10 mins @ HK$4.2).

Actually it is about 12 - 15 mins walk from Yung Kee to the Peak Tram Lower terminal at Garden Rd, Central .

Or, Just take a short taxi drive for about 5 mins @ HK$20 straight to the Peak Tram terminal.

Here's a travel instruction from the Peak to Disney Hollywood Hotel.

You can take a taxi straight to Hong Kong MTR station or you can take the bus 15C from the Peak Tram to Central Pier and then walk to the nearby Hong Kong MTR station --> take the Tung Chung Line train to Sunny Bay station --> change train to the Disneyland Resort Line to Disneyland station (30 mins @ HK$21.7) and then take Exit A --> walk to the nearby Disneyland public bus terminal --> take the hotel shuttle bus that will shuttle you to the hotel.

Please Advise/Guide For My 3 days Itinerary
by: shirley

Good day. Please advice and help me organize my itinerary for 3 days. I’m visiting Hongkong next month. My expected arrival is May 18 at 8am. We’re going to stay in Tsim Sha Tsui. Here’s how I intend to manage our tour.

1st day: Ngong Ping, Wetland Park and Peak Tram

*From HKIA we'll head straight to Ngong Ping where, based on my readings here, we can conveniently rent lockers to store our luggage. From Ngong Ping, our next destination is Wetland Park.
-Is this okay?
-How do I get here from Ngong Ping?
-How long will it take us?

2nd Day: Hongkong National Park, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Jumbo floating restaurant, Victoria Harbor
-Do you think I should add more places to see on our 2nd day? Any suggestions?
-I’m skipping Madame Tussauds because I have a kid in tow.
3rd day: Disneyland
-I decided to visit Disneyland on our last day to save time and money.
Will spend the whole day here until our flight back to Manila.

Based on my itinerary above, in your estimate, how much load do you think I need for my octopus card (1 adult, 1 senior, 1 child)?

re: 1 day tourist pass
by: hkinsider Don

Yes, you can take the MTR train unlimited times within 24 hours and the Disneyland Resort Line is covered with it.

The Tourist Day Pass price is @ HK$55 and HK$25 for children age 3 - 11.

The only exception for this pass (you can NOT use) when taking the Airport Express train, East Rail Line first class, Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau station.

Also, this pass is restricted only for visitors (non-HK residents) who have been in Hong Kong for less than 14 days.

1 day tourist pass
by: Anonymous

If I buy a 1 day tourist pass, can I use it to go to HK Disneyland for several times (within 24 hours from first use)? Does the unlimited rides on the MTR from the tourist pass cover the Disneyland Resort Line? Thank you very much.

re: taxi from Disneyland to TST
by: HKinsider Don

@ WTrisG,

I afraid you're not allowed in a single taxi cab in your group but just try to negotiate with the taxi driver.

Anyway, a taxi from Disneyland to TST is about 30 mins drive @ HK$175 and not to worry about traffic along the way as it will not pass to the city proper.

Also, a taxi from TST to HKIA is about 35 mins drive @ HK$250.

Related topic, Airport to TST cheapest method - you can apply this travel route in reverse order.

Getting from Harbour Grand hotel to Disneyland
by: Anonymous

Hi I'll be staying in Harbour Grand Hotel near Fortress Hill MTR. Will be with 2 kids aged 3 and 1 year old..

Which is the easier way to get to and from our hotel to Disneyland?
Is it faster by taxi or by mtr?
I know taxi will cost almost $240?
Am abit concerned about the many changes of train if I take mtr.
Will there usually be a traffic jam heading out from hotel on a Friday at aroud 9am or back to hotel at 830pm?

Is the senior citizen cheaper entry fee to Disneyland applicable for us tourists? Am thinking of buying tickets online before the trip

Thanks!!

A visit to HK Disneyland with a 5 hours stop over to Hong Kong is possible.

Just think of 2 hrs budget for transportation back and forth and then the rest of time you can spend to explore the park. Taking a train or a taxi is very efficient.

For recommended HK Hotels (link below).

You may stay at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel or Airport Hotels.

Take Airport Express trains to your hotel or a taxi straight to your hotel that would cost you a little over HK$100.

Hello :)

1) Getting to Victoria Harbour or Avenue of Stars from Disneyland, here's a travel instruction ( post dated sept 3, 2010 ).

Here's a travel route in getting to Macau from Avenue of Stars (post dated march 15, 2011).

2) Haywood Mansion is located at 57 Paterson St, Causeway Bay. It's a 4-minute walk from Causeway Bay MTR station, exit B. And yes, you'd be surrounded by shopping malls for HK shopping in Causeway Bay.

Re: detailed transportation mode
by: HKinsider Don

Hi edelyn,

Miramar Hotel Hong Kong (The Mira Hong Kong) very conveniently located at 118 - 130 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

Day 1: Take the CityBus CTB A21 from Airport (Ground Transportation Centre), a short walk to your right upon exit at HK airport arrival hall --> counting the Airport (GTC) as 1st bus stop, you need to get off at 12th bus stop located just steps away to the hotel at 132 Nathan Road before Kimberley Road opposite Park Lane Shopper's Boulevard. Bus fare @ HK$33 for about an hour journey.

Pls refer to this post dated "Jul 01, 2011" to see actual bus stop location.

From Miramar hotel to HK Disneyland. Walk couple of minutes towards south of Nathan Rd and get into the TST MTR station (Exit B2) --> Tsuen Wan Line trains to Lai King station --> interchange to Tung Chung Line to Sunny Bay station --> interchange trains to Disneyland Resort Line to Disneyland, 38 mins @ HK$17.

Day 2: Miramar hotel to Ngong Ping. TST MTR station --> Tsuen Wan Line to Lai King station --> Tung Chung Line to Tung Chung station Exit B, 38 mins @ HK$13.1. Walk 4 mins and follow directional signs to the NP 360 Cable Car terminal.

Miramar hotel to The Peak (where you can visit Madame Tussauds). You can walk about 12 mins to the Star Ferry Pier or take a short taxi drive @ HK$20 --> Star Ferry to Central --> bus 15C to the Peak Tram.

Symphony of Lights vantage point is at Victoria harbour adjacent to the Star Ferry Terminal where you can also visit the Avenue of Stars.

Day 3: Getting to Ocean Park from Miramar hotel, you can follow the instruction written in here.

You can shop lot of souvenirs in one of the well-known street markets close to your location like Temple Street Night Market.

Day 4: Considering your flight is at 9:45 am, you should leave the hotel around 7:00am to give you enough time to travel (1 hr by bus) and check in.

Getting to Macau from TST (scroll down to post dated "Mar 15, 2011") to read instruction.

Also please read this topic discussion specially for first timers in Macau.

Horizon Plaza and Space outlet are both located in an industrial area of Ap Lei Chau, a small island connected by bridge to Hong Kong Island near Aberdeen. The building has been converted from a large warehouse into a retail outlet which is not very popular for tourist - not recommended.

Getting there is thru Bus 90 that can be found at either Central Exchange Square Bus Terminal or in Admiralty Bus Terminal (inside the United Centre).

Re: getting to Disneyland from Traders hotel
by: HKinsider Don

Hi Dominique,

Traders Hotel Hong Kong is a 4-star hotel located at 508 Queens Road West, Western District, Hong Kong.

Here's an efficient way to travel from Traders Hotel Hong Kong to Hong Kong Disneyland.

Take a taxi for less than 10 minutes drive @ HK$25 to Hong Kong MTR station (nearest MTR station from the hotel) --> get into the subway station and take the Tung Chung Line train to Sunny Bay station --> interchange trains to the Disneyland Resort Line that will bring you straight to Hong Kong Disneyland station Exit A. Total train travel time is 30 minutes @ HK$21.7 --> upon exit, take about 3 minutes walk to the parks' main entrance.

Hope this help and enjoy your HK trip!

Hello. I will go to Hong Kong for the first time and I am just wondering how will I be able to go to Hong Kong Disneyland from Trader's Hotel, Hong Kong. What will be the best and cheapest mode of transportation on getting there? Thank you very much. :)

Re: From disneyland to guangdong hotel
by: HKinsider Don

Hello sas, Guangdong Hotel (click on the link to read more details, reviews and map) is a 4-star hotel located at 18 Prat Avenue Tsimshatsui Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is about 5 minutes walk to and from Tsimshatsui MTR Station Exit A2 or D2 (beside Mirador Mansion).

The location of Mirador Mansion is a good point of reference in getting to the most popular HK attractions. Please follow this link and refer to the post dated Jul 12, 2011 on that page to read discussion specially on how to get there.

We are on a budget. 2 adults 1 child(10 yrs old). We will proceed to disney from the airport with out big luggages. THank you

Re: airport to disneyland
by: HKinsider Don

Hi sas, yes there are luggage lockers at Hong Kong Disneyland that are available for rentals.

Ticket pricing and park opening hours can be read in our HK Disneyland page (link below this page).

For your options in getting from HK airport straight to Disneyland Resort, please scroll up to the top of this page.

I would suggest you'll leave at the park before 6:00pm to have enough time to check-in with your hotel.

Here's how to get to Salisbury-YMCA of Hong Kong hotel from HK Disneyland. Get into the Disneyland MTR station and then to the rest, follow this travel instruction.

The most efficient way of transport between HK airport and Salisbury-YMCA of Hong Kong hotel (vice versa) by taking the Airport Express train from airport to Kowloon station (21 mins @ HK$90) and then take the Airport Express free shuttle bus (route K2) from Kowloon station and get off at Kowloon hotel (first stop), the hotel is located just a block away to the Salisbury st.

What time should we leave our hotel to go to the airport if our flight is mar 9 at 2155H? is there a free bus to the airport. if no, what's the cheapest way. ty

Re: Our First trip in Macau and Hongkong
by: HKinsider Don

Here's my suggested itinerary to maximized your time.

10March. From Macau to Hong Kong.
Macau Ferry terminal (7:00 am) --> take ferry to Hong Kong-Macau Ferry terminal for about an hour ferry ride ( more info here) in Sheung Wan.

From Hong Kong Ferry Terminal to Disneyland ( opens at 10:00 am).
Get into the Sheung Wan MTR station --> take the Island Line train and get off at Central station --> walk to the adjacent Hong Kong station --> take the Tung Chung Line train and get off at Sunny Bay station --> then interchange to the Disneyland Resort Line train to Disneyland station Exit A. Total train travel time is 39 minutes @ HK$21.7

Stay at HK Disneyland until early evening to see the fireworks.

For your budget stay in HK, I would suggest somewhere in TST area, go to this topic discussion (post dated June 6) to read some recommended budget hotels.

Here's how; get back into the Disneyland MTR station --> take the train and get off at Sunny Bay station --> interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line and get off at Lai King station --> interchange trains to the Tsuen Wan Line and get off at Tsim Sha Tsui station. Train travel time is 39 minutes @ HK$17.

Also you can opt to skip the fireworks at Disneyland, then proceed to the Street Markets for the famous bargain shopping then proceed to the hotel afterwards.

March 11. There's nothing much you can do in the morning since most of HK major attractions opens at 10:00am.

You may visit 1 or 2 HK Museums at TST area and then afternoon, take the Star Ferry at TST Ferry Pier nearby to Central (9 mins @ HK$2.5) --> then take a short walk to the nearby Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal --> take ferry to Macau.

Note: the bold and blue color fonts stands for major tourist attractions, their links are in the bottom of this page. Please follow those links to read more information about it, specially on how to get there.

Hope it helps and have a pleasant journey!

Hello Jodie :)

Here's a travel instruction in getting to Disneyland from HK Airport by taxi (post dated May 29, 2010).

Here's a travel guide in getting to Macau from Disneyland (post dated May 12, 2011).

Here's a travel guide in getting to HK Airport from Kowloon (post dated May 6, 2011). I suggest you take the Airport Express trains.

Getting around HK with kids :)
by: Jodie

We are travelling with another couple to HK in September (4 adults + 4 kids)and I am wondering what is best way to get around. The kids are smaller so we have the issue of lugging around suitcases etc.

On arrival we are heading to Disneyland (3 nights), then off to Macau (4 nights) and finally to Kowloon (7 nights). I'm thinking taxi to Disney but not sure from there.

How would we get from Disney to Macau? Finally, would you recommend a taxi from Kowloon back to the airport? Many thanks :)

Re: Cheapest Hotel near Hong Kong Airport or Disneyland
by: HKinsider Don

Hi Ryan,

It is quite hard to find a budget hotel close to the HK airport unless you proceed to the city proper like you can easily get one in Tsim Sha Tsui area in Kowloon.

If you're looking a good hotel with great location (easy to get to Disneyland or Ngong Ping 360), I would suggest the Novotel Citygate Hotel Hong Kong for about 10 minutes to and from the airport.

To read more information about Novotel Citygate Hotel and to know how to get to the attractions nearby.

Re: where to leave our luggage if in-town check-in service is not an option

Hello Jake :)

You may leave your luggages in the shopping mall. There are lockers for rent available in small and big sizes which would charge you per hour. I'm referring to big shopping malls in the area.

where to leave our luggage if in-town check-in service is not an option
by: jake

We are staying for at Disney's Hollywood Hotel. On our last day, we would like to go to Kowloon before catching our flight. since we need to check out in the morning, we don't want to carry our luggage around the city. Our airline is not included in the list of airlines providing in-town check-in luggage. Are there other places where we can leave our luggages? we can leave our luggages at disney, but we don't want to go back to Disney and get our luggages since it will be out of the way if we are coming from the city. Any advice?

Re: How to maximize our time in 1 day tour
by: HKinsider stellar

Hello :)

Disneyland and Ocean Park require a full day activity but since you'll only have a day, i suggest you get to Victoria Harbour first thing in the morning via the Star Ferry and walk along the Avenue of Stars. Get to Ocean Park at 9am then to Disneyland at around 3pm. You may still catch the "Disney in the Stars" fireworks at 8pm. After which, get to the airport.

So, Star Ferry--> Avenue of Stars--> Ocean Park--> Disneyland

To get to the Central Star Ferry pier from HK airport, take the Airport Express trains all the way to the last station which is Hong Kong station then take a walk to the pier, just follow directional signs. Board on the ferry to cross the harbour. The Avenue of Stars is adjacent to Tsim Sha Tsui pier.

Getting to Ocean Park from Tsim Sha Tsui, get to the nearest Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station and get on the Tsuen Wan Line trains toward Central station and get off at Admiralty station. Take exit B where you can find the CityBus CTB 629 station. Get on the Bus 629 that will bring you to Ocean Park.

Getting to Disneyland from Ocean Park, get back to Admiralty station and take the Island Line going to Central. Take trains at Hong Kong station. Take the Tung Chung Line trains and get off at Sunny Bay station. Interchange trains to the Disneyland Resort Line trains to Disneyland station. Upon exit, you'll directly see the HK Disneyland entrance. Travel time is 38 minutes @ HK$21.2.

Here's a travel guide in getting to HK airport from Disneyland.

Hope this helps.

Re: 60HK$ by trains
by: Anonymous

Yes it is right, HK$60 for Airport Express trains + MTR trains (free) and HK$100 for taxi. Please do not confused that the Airport Express trains is your only train option from the airport and the fare is quite expensive if compared to those with in the city proper.

That is why it is always better to take a taxi if you come in a group of 4 or 5 persons going to Disneyland.

Re: Bus charge for children
by: Anonymous

Most Bus in HK will charge half - fare for children (under 11 yrs old).

Their are "CHILD octopus cards" that you can buy at MTR stations that are only intended for the use of children.

60HK$ by trains
by: Anonymous

You have mentioned this on one of the comments above...
Hong Kong Disneyland is located in Lantau island close to the Hong Kong International Airport and approximately about 12 minutes, HK$ 100 - 115 by taxi (Lantau or blue taxi); or 33 minutes by Airport Express then interchange to MTR trains at Tsing Yi station, HK$ 60 (using Octopus card). The park hours is 10:30 am til 7:30 pm.

What is this octopus card and is the HK$60 for one person only? How come its too expensive on the train if this is the case?

Are the kids free to ride the bus? one is 7 yo and the other one is 4 yo. Do we need to pay for their bus tickets? Thanks.

Re: Going to HK for a visit
by: Anonymous

If your friend could not pick you up at the airport, I suggest that you'll proceed to the Mirador Mansion at Tsim Sha Tsui where you can get a very affordable bed space. Click here for more details about that place.

Don't worry, Hong Kong is a very safe to travel. You can always see a police in every place and you can always ask their help if you feel you get lost.

Re: Ferry route from Macau to Hong Kong
by: Anonymous

Actually, the ferry from Macau to airport is intended for departing passengers at HKIA that want to leave Hong Kong directly without passing through the HK immigration. It is the same as you did NOT actually visit or go inside Hong Kong.

I assume that you're heading to Hong Kong Disneyland so I would suggest that you take the ferry route from Macau to HongKong-Macau Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan (Hong Kong island) instead and then take the MTR trains to Disneyland for 37 minutes @ HK$21.2. See more options for Macau to HK gateways here.

Upon exit at Disneyland MTR station, take a couple of minutes walk to the main entrance of the park. The park opening hours is from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm.

Re: Going to HK for a visit

Hi, just want to ask for your advice. My friend and I will visit Hong Kong this coming Feb11 with less budget, that means we didn't book for a hotel or anything.

We will arrive at 12 midnight over there and maybe at 6am we will call our friend from there to pick us up if she is willing and available. What if we our friend could not help us, are we be able to get a place to stay that is cheaper without any reservations at all? Is hongkong safe to travel? Hope you could give us your advice. Thank you.

Ferry route from Macau to Hong Kong
by: Googler

What a great page! :) anyhow, I'll be visiting China soon, so o have set of queries :)

Ill be coming from Macau and ill be taking a ferry to Hongkong.

Question:
1. Will the ferry stop on the HK Airport? I'm researching about it and no one can give a direct answer? is the Ferry stop connected to the airport?

1a. if its not connected, how will i go to the airport?

1b. if its connected, ill be taking an MTR and I saw the post above the instructions going to Disneyland. I understand that ill be going down in the Sunny Bay MTR to take Disneyland MTR. Is the Disneyland MTR connected with the Disneyland itself? or will i need to ride something when ill go down to Disneyland MTR?

2. What time does the Disneyland open and close?
cause i plan to go there a little early so that I can spend the whole day inside Disneyland so that I can go home by 4:00 going back to Macau.

Thank you and more power in this page! :D

Re: Cityview hotel to Ocean Park
by: Anonymous

Here's the location information of Cityview hotel.

And here's the most efficient way of travel going to Ocean Park from Cityview hotel:

Get into the Yau Ma Tei MTR station and take the Tsuen Wan Line trains heading towards Central but you need to get off at Admiralty station, 8 minutes @ HK9.7. Take Exit B and upon exit you'll see the Admiralty (west) Bus Terminus. Get into the special CityBus No. 629 for about 15 minutes, HK$10.6, an express bus travel between Admiralty (west) and Ocean Park (main entrance).

Also, if our flight schedule going back is at 9 pm, and we need to go back to Cityview after Ocean Park, what is the safest time to leave Ocean Park?

Lastly, our schedule in Disneyland is on Feb 20 which is a Sunday, do you think there would be a lot of people during sundays in disney?

Re: How to go to Holiday Inn Golden Mile from Disneyland Hollywood Hotel

Holiday Inn Golden Mile is situated at 50 Nathan Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station Exit M3.
Tel no. +852 2369 3111

Disneyland or Disney's Hollywood Hotel is situated at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Lantau Island.

Here's how to get to Holiday Inn Golden Mile from Disneyland Hollywood hotel by MTR trains. Take the hotel shuttle bus to the Disneyland Bus Terminus adjacent to the Disneyland Resort MTR station or you can take about 15 minutes walk up there from the hotel.

Take the Disneyland Resort Line trains from Hong Kong Disneyland MTR station to Sunny Bay station. Interchange trains to Tung Chung Line towards Hong Kong station but you need to get off at Nam Cheong station. Interchange trains to the West Rail Line going towards Hung Hom station and get off at East Tsim Sha Tsui station and take Exit M3. Total train travel time is 34 minutes, HK$16.6

A taxi to Holiday Inn Golden Mile from Disneyland Hollywood hotel is about 40 minutes, HK$300.

Re: From Disneyland to Langham Hotel

Langham Hotel is located at 8 Peking Road, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. MTR Tsim Sha Tsui station Exit C1 then about 5 minutes walk to the hotel.

Total train travel time is 39 minutes, HK$16.6. Last train from Disneyland MTR station is until midnight, at 0009hrs to be exact.

Re: Hongkong travel
by: hk-insider don

1) To know the details on how to get to Disneyland from the airport, please scroll up to the top of this page.

2) Getting to Disneyland from Ngong Ping. Take a taxi or bus to Tung Chung MTR station.
Take the Tung Chung Line trains to Hong Kong but you need to get off at the very next station, Sunny Bay station. Interchange trains to the Disneyland Resort Line to Disneyland station, 18 minutes @ HK$ 11.6.

3) I'm sure that you are referring to Royal Plaza Hotel (click here for more hotel information) in 193, Prince Edward Road West, Kowloon, Hong Kong. There is only one Royal Park Hotel which located at 8 Pak Hok Ting Street, Shatin, Hong Kong.

I assume that you're in Ngong Ping village going back to your hotel and that you're time is limited and don't want to take the Ngong Ping 360 sky-rail to Tung Chung. You can take a taxi from there (Bus No.2 is quite slow, HK$ 16) to the Tung Chung MTR station, about 15 minutes, HK$ 50 or more, it depends if you carry some luggage.
Take the Tung Chung Line trains to Hong Kong but you need to get off at Lai King station. Interchange trains to the Tsuen Wan Line going to Central and get off at Prince Edward station then take Exit B2 (total train travel time is 31 minutes @ HK$13.8). Upon exit turn right (to your left is Nathan Rd)and walk about 8 minutes along Prince Edward road west to the hotel main entrance.

4) You can take the Airport Shuttle bus from Royal Plaza hotel to airport at HK$150/person/trip. Or, you can take the MTR trains to Kowloon station and take the Airport Express trains at HK$90. Or, take the MTR trains to Shatin station and take the bus LWB A41 to airport at HK$21, 28 minutes.

Re: Hollywood Hotel to Cityview Hotel; Airport Travel Pass; 65 and above ocean park tickets; Best Routes and Transportation from HKIA to Ocean Park/Disneyland
by: hk-insider don

Re: Hollywood Hotel to Cityview Hotel
Taxi in Hong Kong is 5 seater and quite wide, try to negotiate with the driver if you all can be accommodated in one taxi as I afraid there's no van-type taxi that we can find in HK.

A taxi fare from Hollywood to Cityview hotel is around HK$300 @ approximately 35 minutes travel time.

Re: Airport Travel Pass
The Airport Travel Pass - 1 means a 1 Airport Express single journey and I think you need to specify route direction either from airport to the city or from the city to the airport when the time you buy the pass ticket. One thing I'm not sure is if you can use it in reverse order otherwise, it is good to have the octopus card and take the bus.

Re: 65 and above ocean park tickets
Sorry, the seniors of age 65 and above free Ocean Park admission ticket is only applicable to persons with Hong Kong Identification Card (HKID), other than that will need to pay the general admission ticket of HK$250.

Re: Best Routes and Transportation from HKIA to Ocean Park/Disneyland
Both park will open at 10:00 am but I think it is good to go first at Ocean Park (here's how to get there) then to Hong Kong Disneyland. This route is ideal specially if you want to go back to the airport right after you finished with Disneyland.

Good evening. May I know the most economical and practical Hongkong trip/routes from HKIA to Ocean Park and Disneyland? Do we need to go first to Ocean Park or Disneyland?

Good morning! I saw in one of your comments that seniors of 65 age and above are free on ocean park ticket entrance. Is this also applicable for other citizenship, I mean not hongkong seniors. Thanks!

Re: Airport Travel Pass

Hi THKA, Follow-up questions on the Airport Express Travel Pass - 1, is it okay if we use it our 3rd day going to Airport? For the Airport Express Shuttle Bus, we can't take the last trip since we will be arriving in HKIA around 1am on 01/14/11. We will be on 3D2N trip, choosing Macau as our 1st day and HK as 2nd and 3rd day. We opt to take the Citybus N21 from airport to our Guest house in TST. We need advise on what would be the Ideal or Best Option to use, Airport Express Travel Pass - 1 or Octopus Card w/ HKD150 load? Sorry THKA if we have a lot of questions regarding Airport. I could not fine any email address in the MTR website. Thanks

Hollywood Hotel to Cityview Hotel
by: Anonymous

Thank you for your response however, my question is that if we will be riding a taxi, is there an available that can accommodate 5 adults and 2 kids (a van or something) and how much would it cost to transfer us from Hollywood hotel directly to Cityview hotel. Thanks a lot.

Re: Airport Travel Pass
by: Anonymous

@ Aaron:
The Airport Travel Pass CAN NOT be used in any other form or transport company except for any MTR transportation only. Sorry, KMB and Citybus are NOT belong to MTR.

It means that if you use that ticket, you need to take a one-way ride in the Airport Express trains (MTR) from airport to the city, PLUS 3 consecutive days of unlimited ride on the Airport Express Shuttle-bus (MTR) between Hong Kong or Kowloon station and major hotels and railway interchanges, PLUS 3 consecutive days of unlimited ride on MTR trains except East Rail Line First Class, Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations.

@ Anonymous:
The Airport Express Travel Pass is I think is the best option for you unless you're planning to stay most of your time in your hotel.Good luck and enjoy your visit in HK!

Airport, Disneyland & Ocean Park
by: Anonymous

Hi, I plan on a 5D4D trip to Hong Kong (2 adult 1 child). We will stay in Cityview hotel. We will arrive at HK on 2 Feb 2011 evening.
We plan to visit Disneyland on 3 Feb and Ocean Park on 4 Feb.
May I know is "Airport Express Travel Pass" worth for this? Any better recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Airport Travel Pass
by: Aaron

Hi THKA, can we use our airport travel pass to pay Citybus(N21) from Airport to Tsim Sha Tsui? Exact fare will be deducted to the HKD50 refundable deposit? or Citybus is still part of the unlimited pass package of Airport Travel Pass? Is Citybus is still under the MTR Bus? We opt to buy only the Single Journey Airport Travel Pass since we will be arriving HKIA at 1am.

Thanks, Aaron

Re: Airport to Disney then to Cityview hotel
by: Anonymous

Yes, aside from taxi, there are other car options or airport transfer services at HKIA.

Disney's Hollywood Hotel is one of two hotels at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort in Penny's Bay, Lantau Island, Hong Kong.

Cityview hotel is a 4-star hotel situated at 23 Waterloo Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong
About 2 minutes walk from Yau Ma Tei MTR station exit D.
Tel no. +852 2783 3888

Here's my suggestion in getting to Cityview hotel from Hollywood hotel which is the most efficient way of travel:

Take the shuttle bus from Hollywood hotel to the Disneyland Bus terminus near the Park's entrance and to the Disneyland MTR station. Get into the MTR station take the Disneyland Resort Line trains to Sunny Bay station. Interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line going to Hong Kong station but you need to get off at Lai King station. Interchange trains to the Tsuen Wan Line trains heading towards Central and get off at Yau Ma Tei station. Take couple minutes walk to the hotel. Total train travel time is 36 minutes, HK$ 16.6

Airport to Disney then to Cityview hotel
by: Anonymous

May I ask if there is a bigger car/taxi available so that we all ride in one vehicle from airport to Hollywood hotel (5 adults and 2 kids) since most are senior citizens and then how much would it cost.

Also how do we get from Hollywood hotel to the Cityview hotel? and how much is the fare?

Thanks a lot and hoping for your response.

Re: where to deposite my luggage
by: Anonymous

Yes, there are storage lockers that are available for rental at Hong Kong Disneyland but it is ideal to leave your things at your hotel. If you think your luggage is not too big or too heavy then you can use that guest service or you can even bring it along as you explore the park but it is quite hassle specially if you want to take the rides.

where to deposite my luggage
by: Anonymous

I'm planning to go to HK disneyland directly from the airport. Is there a locker room or courtesy booth in HK disneyland so i can deposit my luggage? It will be hassle strolling around the park carrying my luggage. I will arrive there around 9:45am

Re: 2 days in HK and 1 Macau
by: hk-insider don

The Airport Express Travel Pass ticket stores a HK$50 refundable deposit and valid for 180 days from day of issue. You may add HK$200 to it that could be enough for your short stay in HK. Anyway, you can easily check or add value to it available at all Customer Service Centre of Airport Express and MTR stations (except Racecourse Station) and surrender it to them to get your refund prior to your departure.

Not sure what hotel in Hong Kong that offers a free ferry service from HK to Macau. It may be true in some hotel deals and package, so in this case, please verify it with your hotel before you go.

Disneyland or Ocean Park admission tickets are available daily at park's entrance.

Disneyland Tickets; Adult = HK$350; Child (3-11) = HK$250; Senior (65 or above) = HK$170

* Peak Day Tickets are valid for one visit on any day except special days within 6 months of the ticket issue.

* Special Day Tickets are valid for one visit on a special day and are date-stamped and valid only on that specified date.

Ocean Park Tickets; Adult = HK$250; Child (3-11) = HK$125; Senior (65 or above) = free

* If you do not want to get your admission ticket on the day of your visit, you can reserve your tickets online and collect them at the park's main entrance on the day of your visit or receive the tickets by courier. Valid for the next 90 days and you can order a maximum of 10 tickets per transaction per credit card.

2 days in HK and 1 day in Macau
by: Aaron

I have some questions about Disneyland and Ocean Park, does the Admission Ticket is open to any days? Is there a validity on admission ticket? For example I have a ticket dated jan 4 2011, if i can't make on that day, is it possible I can use it on the later days?

Thank you so much for your reply.

2 Days in HK and 1 Day Macau
by: Anonymous

If I buy the "Airport Express Travel Pass - 2 Airport Express Ride with price of HK$300", How can I avail the refundable amount of HK$50? It is true that some hotels in Macau offering free ferry service from HK-Macau-HK?

Thanks, Aaron

Re: 2 days in HK and 1 Macau
by: Anonymous

Here are the difference between the two airport express travel pass:

1.) Airport Express Travel Pass - 1 Airport Express Ride with price of HK$220. This package contains the following;
* 1 Airport Express single journey plus 3 consecutive days of unlimited travel on MTR, Light Rail and MTR Bus (except Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class, Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations).
* HK$50 refundable deposit

2.) Airport Express Travel Pass - 2 Airport Express Ride with price of HK$300. This package contains the following;
* 2 Airport Express single journey plus 3 consecutive days of unlimited travel on MTR, Light Rail and MTR Bus (except Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class, Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations).
* HK$50 refundable deposit

I would suggest you get the item #2 if you intend to travel many places around HK.

Or, you can just purchase the Octopus card which only cost you HK$60 for an Airport Express plus MTR train ride (the best way) between Disneyland and HKIA.

What is the best way (cheap) to use the Airport Express Travel Pass - 1 Airport Express Ride or Airport Express Travel Pass - 2 Airport Express Ride or just pay when you ride? What the best way or route or ride train or bus from disneyland to HKIA? Thanks THKA!

Re: Best way to travel from Disneyland to Marco Polo Gateway
by: Anonymous

Marco Polo Gateway hotel Hong Kong is situated at 13 Canton Road, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong
Tel no. +852 2113-0888

The most efficient way in getting to Marco Polo Gateway hotel from HK Disneyland is by taking the MTR trains.

Take the Disneyland Resort Line from Disneyland to Sunny Bay station. Interchange trains to the Tung Chung / Disneyland Resort Line towards Hong Kong station but you need to get off at Lai King station. Interchange trains to the Tsuen Wan Line towards Central station and get-off at Tsim Sha Tsui station, take exit L4 and follow directional signs to the Marco Polo Gateway hotel Hong Kong. Re: shooping area+hotel+disneyland
by: Anonymous

I would suggest you stay somewhere in Kowloon because it is the heart of street market shopping. You may stay at BP International hotel, located close to both Jordan and Austin MTR stations and not so expensive. It's a short walk to bustling Nathan Road.

Here's how to get to B P International hotel.

For shopping, I recommend Ladies' Market or Temple Street Night Market which is close to the hotel.

Getting to Disneyland from B P International hotel:
Walk about 5 minutes from the hotel to the Austin MTR station and take the West Rail Line trains. Get off at Nam Cheong station and interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line. Get off at Sunny Bay station and interchange trains to the Disneyland Resort Line trains to Disneyland station. Total train travel time is 29 minutes, HK$ 16.6

Re: HKIA-Disneyland-Parklane hotel
by: Anonymous

2 adults + 3 kids + 5 luggages can be accommodated in one taxi, HK taxis are quite wide. I suggest you put your luggages in a single trolley to carry it easily especially when taking the MTR trains.

Park Lane Hong Kong hotel is situated at 310 Gloucester Road, Hong Kong right in the heart of vibrant Causeway Bay, with spectacular views of Victoria Park.
Tel no. +852 2293 8888

HKIA-Disneyland-Park Lane hotel - getting there is already explained above.

Re: HELP, 2 days to tour around Hong Kong
by: Anonymous

I assume that you want to tour 2 days in Hong Kong and 1 day in Macau, so here's my personal itinerary suggestion.

Day 1: HK Disneyland --> Ngong Ping 360 --> Avenue of Stars --> Victoria Harbour --> and Symphony of Lights.

Day 2: Ocean Park --> HK Shopping and do not miss the Street Markets.

OR, you can find here a suggested itinerary for 2 days in HK and 1 day in Macau.

Royal Plaza hotel is situated in Mong Kok in the heart of Kowloon and conveniently sits on top of the MTR Mong Kok East station.

The most direct and efficient route from HKIA to Royal Plaza hotel is by taking the Airport Express trains + MTR trains. Train travel time is 42 minutes, HK$ 60.

Upon arrival at HKIA, take the Airport Express trains and get off at Tsing Yi MTR station. Interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line trains heading towards Hong Kong station and get off at Nam Cheong station. Interchange trains to the West Rail Line trains towards Hung Hom station and get off at Hung Hom station. Then finally, interchange trains to the East Rail Line MTR trains and get off at Mong Kok East station then take exit B3 and follow directional signs going to Royal Plaza hotel which is about less than 5 minutes walk from that MTR exit.

I arrive Hong Kong and straight to Disneyland for couple days. I think best way to get the taxi but we are 2 adults + 3 kids with 5 luggages 24inch. any type of Taxi Van (MPV)? then after a couple days in Disney, will stay at Hong Kong Island Park Lane hotel. If I take the MTR trains + Airport Express, will it be too hassle to carry our luggages from MTR Sunny Bay station to Tsing Yi station?

HELP!

My family will visit Hong Kong early next year and we really want to maximize our trip. We only have 2 days to tour around Hong Kong. We plan to visit Ngong Ping village, Disneyland and Macau. Can you help us with our itinerary? We will be checking-in at Royal Plaza Hotel in Mong Kok East. What is the cheapest way to get there? Thanks in advance.

From Citygate mall going to Causeway Bay

Get on the Tung Chung Line MTR trains from Tung Chung MTR station heading towards Central. Get off and interchange trains at Central station to the Island Line trains and then get off at Causeway Bay station Exit A. Total trains travel time is 42 minutes, HK$ 18.4

Re: Transportation Hours from Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1 to Disneyland

Normally, those Bus numbers that you can find listed at the top of this page are operating from 5:30 in the morning until midnight. BUT there are also some bus that operates overnight routes from HKIA Airport (you can get off at Lantau Link Toll Plaza - next Bus stop from the airport) such as;

CITYBUS N11, Central (Macau Ferry) -- Airport (Ground Transportation Centre), HK$31.0

CITYBUS N21, Tsim Sha Tsui (Star Ferry)-- Airport (Ground Transportation Centre), HK$23.0

These bus operates overnight daily with 30 minutes interval, (service hours; 00:20, 00:50, 01:20, 01:50, 02:20, 02:50, 03:20, 03:50, 04:20, 04:50)

We strongly advice that you stay at airport until morning as the park will open at 10:00 am.

Re: Citygate mall from Jordan station; Disney Hollywood Hotel to Citygate Outlet.
by: hkinsider-don

Citygate Outlet mall is situated at the heart of Tung Chung adjacent to the Tung Chung MTR Station Exit C.

The most efficient and convenient way in getting to Citygate mall from Jordan station is by taking the MTR trains.

Take the MTR Tsuen Wan Line trains from Jordan station heading towards Tsuen Wan. Get off at Lai King station and interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line towards Tung Chung station and then take Exit C to the Citygate Outlet. Total train travel time is 38 minutes, HK$ 13.8

Re: Disney Hollywood Hotel to Citygate Outlet.

Take the free bus ride (every 10 - 15 minutes) from Disney Hollywood hotel to Disneyland Park and then take the MTR trains from Disneyland Resort MTR station and get off and interchange trains at Sunny Bay station. Take the Tung Chung Line trains towards Tung Chung station (next station). Total train travel time is 16 minutes, HK$ 11.6

Hope this help and enjoy your stay in the City of Life!

It is either Hong kong Disneyland or Hong Kong Ocean Park, these are the major attractions in HK that offers a whole day activity. For time efficient, from Hong kong International Airport (HKIA), I would suggest you go to Disneyland first and go to Ocean Park on Day 2.

Or, if you like to go first to Ocean Park from HK airport, then here's how to get there.

For some other suggestions on your trip, here's an itinerary for 2 days in Hong Kong and 1 day in Macau.

Sohotel or So Hotel is situated at 139 Bonham Strand, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
Tel no. +852 2851 8818

The most efficient route in getting to Hong Kong Disneyland from Sohotel is through MTR trains.
Sheung Wan to HK Disneyland MTR route map

Re: from HKIA to Disneyland to Park Lane
by: hk-insider don

Since you are in a group, taking a taxi would be much cheaper and the most efficient. You need to try to negotiate the taxi driver if all of you can be accommodated in one taxi cab, if the children are under 12 it should be fine.

Here's a travel instruction in getting to Hong Kong Disneyland from HKIA by taking the Airport Express trains, top of this page.

Going to Park Lane hotel from Disneyland:
There is no need to go back to the airport.
Take the MTR trains from Disneyland resort station, interchange at Sunny Bay station for the Tung Chung Line and then get off and interchange trains from Central to Causeway Bay station then take Exit E and about two blocks walk to the hotel, 44 minutes total train travel - HK$ 21.2

Going to or from Park Lane hotel from HKIA:
Take the Airport Express trains to Hong Kong MTR station then interchange trains to the Island Line and get off at Causeway Bay station (HK$ 100 - Octopus single ticket), 40 minutes total train travel time.

Airport Shuttle Service:
Operates every every half an hour between HKIA and Park Lane hotel at HK$150.00 per person per trip. Upon arrival, go to the BO1 counter at Arrival Hall B.

Free Airport Express Shuttle Bus Service:
There is a free Airport Express Shuttle Bus service being provided exclusively for Airport Express train passengers traveling between Hong Kong or Kowloon station and major hotels and railway interchanges.

You will be required to show proof of eligibility including Airport Express train ticket (Single Journey, Same Day Return, Round Trip, Airport Express Travel Pass), Airline ticket / boarding pass, Airport Staff Octopus Card, AsiaWorld-Expo entry pass or event ticket. Try to check at the airport counter the bus number, I think it is H2 which have a route to Park Lane hotel, not K2.

from HKIA to Disneyland to Park Lane
by: Anonymous

Hi! We're planning to go from the HKIA to Disneyland for an overnight stay and then go to Park Lane hotel. There are 6 of us in the group (3 adults + 1 senior + 2 children) so we were thinking of getting a taxi to Disneyland. Is this ok or is it still better to take the MTR?

Going to Park Lane from Disneyland, can we still use the Airport Express to go into the city or do we use the Tung Chung line? We were planning to take the K2 Airport Express shuttle to Park Lane. Can we still do this if we take the Tung Chung MTR to get into the city (we'll be using the Airport Express to get back to HKIA from Park Lane)?

Re: How to get to Nathan road, Chungking mansion in Tsim Sha Tsui from Disneyland
by: hk-insider don

MTR train route: much cheaper
The most efficient route from Hong Kong Disneyland to Chungking mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui is by taking the MTR trains to the Tsim Sha Tsui station, EXIT M3

From Disneyland Resort MTR station to Tsim Sha Tsui station (see MTR route map or scroll up - you need to get off next station after Jordan station) is only 39 minutes train travel, HK$ 16.6

Bus route option:
You can take the Citybus R22# from Disneyland bus terminus (right side upon exit from Disneyland main entrance) to Shanghai street in Jordan and then change bus to CTB 973 to Tsim Sha Tsui, 41 minutes - HK$ 43.7

How about if I'm from Disneyland going to Noah's Ark Resort, is it best if I go back to Hong Kong Airport and take the Park Island Airport Bus, or opt for the Tsing Yi Bus terminal?

Re: Getting to Disneyland from Noah's Ark.
by: Anonymous

Noah's Ark is the newest attraction in Hong Kong, situated at 33 Pak Yan Road, Ma Wan Island, New Territories, Hong Kong close to the Lantau island where the Hong Kong airport and HK Disneyland is located.

Road traffic to and from this island is connected to the famous Tsing Ma Bridge and being restricted so that only vehicles with permit would be able to enter to that area.

Taxis were only permitted to enter in the island after 8:00 in the evening until 7:00 in the morning.

If you want to go to Disneyland from Noah's Ark, you need to take the Bus from the Park Island Bus Terminus going to Tsing Yi Bus terminal (close to the MTR station) about 10 minutes, then from there, you can take a taxi (3 person is fine) to Disneyland or take the MTR trains from Tsing Yi MTR station to Disneyland Resort, 16 minutes, HK$ 11.6.

Re: Travel time from airport to disneyland using taxi
by: hk-insider don

HK Disneyland is located in Lantau Island close to the Hong Kong International Airport and approximately about 12 minutes, HK$ 100 - 115 by taxi (Lantau or blue taxi); or 33 minutes by Airport Express then interchange to MTR trains at Tsing Yi station, HK$ 60 (using Octopus card). The park hours is 10:30 am til 7:30 pm.

Note when taking the taxi:
The fare above do not include additional charges on your luggage but include the related toll charges.

Taxi drivers may charge you HK$ 10 - 15 on a piece of baggage that is carried inside the baggage compartment, and every piece of baggage with total dimensions (length + width + height) exceeding 140cm that is carried inside the passenger compartment. There is no limit on the number of baggage carried by passengers inside a taxi in Hong Kong. A taxi can normally carry about three suitcases of regular size (1.7m length x 0.7m width x 0.5m height) in a baggage compartment.

Since the resort is situated away from the city, nothing to worry about the traffic in getting there it's either a taxi or by trains, it is so efficient.

Upon checkout from the airport, you'll then get into the arrival hall. Looking into the exit, you'll find directional signs going to the taxi stand. It is to your left side upon exit and walk few minutes to get there. Ask help in the information counter if you're in doubt. 3 Taxi cab should be fine to all of you.

Additional Disney schedule info:
Disney on parade: 3:30 pm
"Disney in the Stars" Fireworks: 7:30 pm

After HK Disneyland, the most efficient and cheapest way to go to Mong Kok is by MTR trains, only takes approximately 34 minutes, HK$ 16.6. Disneyland MTR station to Sunny Bay station, interchange to the Tung Chung line to Li King station, then interchange to the Tsuen Wan line to Mong Kok.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Re: Disneyland - Salisbury YMCA hotel, getting there.
by: HKinsider-don

The Salisbury-YMCA of Hong Kong hotel is located at 41 Salisbury Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

Actually, you can take either Airport Express trains by MTR or the Airbus to and from the airport to the city, it depends on what you prefer.

Here's what you consider:

Taking the Airport Express train:
From (HKIA) airport to Kowloon Airport Express station, adult fare is HK$90, only about 20 minutes travel time. Kowloon Station is situated in the Tsim Sha Tsui area at the southernmost tip of West Kowloon.

Upon arrival at the station, you can take a Shuttle Bus to your hotel. The Airport Express Shuttle bus is a complimentary add-on service provided exclusively for Airport Express passengers travelling between Hong Kong or Kowloon station and major hotels and railway interchanges.

Taking the Airbus or Cityflyer A21:

About 45 minutes travel, the fare is only HK$33.
This fully air-conditioned coaches makes your Hong Kong travel experience a smoothest and most scenic bus rides, as you take the change of a lifetime to see the spectacular Tsing Ma Bridge along the way.

You can get off at the "New World Centre, Salisbury Road" bus stop no.4, located at Salisbury Road outside New World Centre. Please find signs to get you to your hotel for about 10 minutes walk.

Please click to these links for getting to Disneyland and Victoria Peak.

Here's bus details about the Bus from Kowloon to Guangzhou.

Re: taxi fare from airport to Hong Kong Disneyland and Lantau link toll fee
by: HKinsider-don

Taxis offer a fast and flexible way to and from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Once you get into the Arrival Hall, you can pick up a taxi at the Taxi Station, which can be reached by the left-hand ramp outside the Hall.

Taxis in Hong Kong are color-coded according to their operating areas.

* Urban taxis (Red) - serve all destinations throughout Hong Kong including the airport except Tung Chung Road and roads in south Lantau.

* New Territories (N.T.) taxis (Green) - serve only the New Territories and specific roads in Lantau.

* Lantau taxis (Blue) - serve all destinations in Lantau and the airport.

Actually, you can get any of those taxi as mentioned above when you are going to HK Disneyland. The fare is about HK$100 - 115 (it includes the toll fee) but you are expected to be charged additional HK$15 for each of your luggage.

Getting to Hong Kong B P International hotel from Disneyland
by: HKinsider Don

Hi there,

The Hong Kong B P International hotel is located in 8 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong (Tel: (852) 2376 1111) close to the Kowloon Park.

Getting to the Hong Kong B P International hotel by MTR is the most efficient way to travel. Just follow the above MTR direction from Disneyland Resort station to Jordan station.

Upon getting off at Jordan station, take EXIT C2 and you can find directions in getting to the hotel, it is only about 5 minutes walk from that exit. Please take note of the hotel tel number so that you can easily call their receptionist in case you find it hard to locate the place, they speaks English and very friendly.

Novotel Hong Kong Nathan Road Kowloon (Midscale Hotel) is situated at 348 Nathan Road, Kowloon, HONG KONG.

Here's how to get there from Disneyland by MTR.

Take the Disneyland Resort Line from Disneyland to Sunny Bay station.
Then interchange trains to Tung Chung / Disneyland Resort Line towards Hong Kong station but you need to get off at Lai King station and again interchange trains to the Tsuen Wan Line towards Central station.

Get-off at Jordan station, take exit B1 and follow the signs to Nathan Road then to Novotel Hotel (about 3 blocks away along the road). About 38 minutes total train travel time and cost HK$18.

RE: Hong Kong Taxis seating capacity
by: HKinsider-don

Hong Kong taxis are quite wide and very comfortable and they're five-seaters.

So 3 adults and 3 children should be ok. However, if you have a lot of luggage, the trunk may not be big enough to handle it all.

Hope this help and enjoy your stay in Hong Kong.

how many can fit a taxi?
by: Anonymous

How many persons can fit a taxi? We are a party of 3 adults and 3 kids. Looks like we need two taxis. What do you think?

RE: Question about Taxi
by: Anonymous

For taking a taxi in Hong Kong, I would say, it's a case to case basis.

Like what you've said that you've a family of 5 so I would suggest you take a taxi. Nothing to worry about traffic as long as you're in the outlying islands like Lantau island where Disneyland is located.

Otherwise, taking a taxi is not an advantage if you're in the city proper where the MTR train is so efficient.

Question

If I have a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids), does it make more sense to take the taxi instead of MTR or bus?
