Travelling to HK for 4 days 3 nights with a toddler
by: ET

Hi, I am planning a family trip to HK early December and since I am bringing my 2.5 year-old son, I am hoping to squeeze in both Ocean Park and Disneyland. What is firmed up now is a full day in Disneyland on the 3rd day, stay overnight at one of the Disneyland's hotel and depart the next day.

For the first 2 nights, we will be staying in a hotel in Causeway Bay.

My focus won't be shopping but would like the trip to be fun packed + maximize exposure for my son. As my mum will also be coming with us, I am thinking perhaps we should also visit some night markets.

Would appreciate your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hello Mr PJD,

I would suggest you read this topic for instruction in getting to HK attraction to and from Harbour Plaza Resort City Hong Kong.

Also, another topic discussion in here for a sample itinerary in Hong Kong and a day in Macau if you're staying at Harbour Plaza Resort City Hong Kong.

For other specific instruction, you need to input the place you wanted to go.

* From Stanley to the Peak:
Take the bus back to Central Exchange Square --> walk to the nearby Central Pier Bus Terminus --> take the bus 15C to the Peak Tram Lower terminal (10 mins @ HK$4.2) --> take the Peak Tram up to the Peak (HK$40 - round trip ticket).

day 4, 26 Oct Wed: Mong Kok ==> Chi Lin Nunnery at 5 Chi Lin Drive, Diamond Hill, Hong Kong and Nan Lian Garden 60 Fung Tak Rd, Diamond Hill, Hong Kong (these two places are located almost adjacent to each other and just a couple of minutes walk from Diamond Hill MTR station Exit C, opening hours: 7:00 am - 9:00 pm, you may stay there until 11:00am) ==> Citygate Outlets at Tung Chung (lunch) ==> Ngong Ping (until 4:30pm) ==> Charlie Brown Cafe at Cameron Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui ==> Shopping at popular shopping mall at TST area ==> back to hotel

Here's how to get there:

* Getting to Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden from Mong Kok:
Get into the Mong Kok MTR station --> take the Kwun Tong Line train and get off at Diamond Hill station Exit C (12 mins @ HK$5.6).

* Getting to Citygate Outlets then to Ngong Ping from Nan Lian Garden:
Get into the Diamond MTR Hill station --> take the Kwun Tong Line and get off at Prince Edward station --> interchange trains to the Tsuen Wan Line and get off at Lai King station --> interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line and get off at Tung Chung station Exit D for Citygate Outlets (41 mins @ HK$14.1) --> walk to the nearby NP 360 Cable Car Terminal --> take the cable car to Ngong Ping (25 mins @ HK$115 for round trip ticket - recommended).

day 2, 24 Oct Mon: Mong Kok ==> HK Disneyland whole day (stay until early evening to watch the "Disney in the Stars" Fireworks that usually starts at 7:30pm) ==> back to hotel

You'll never run out of food choices at Mong Kok area because there are always available more than you can imagine. Just take your breakfast in Mong Kok before you go to Disneyland as foods are limited outside the park as food kiosk and restaurants are only available inside the park and quite pricey.

Here's how to get there, from Mong Kok to Hong Kong Disneyland:
Get into the Mong Kok MTR station --> take the Tsuen Wan Line train and get off at Lai King station --> interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line and get off at Sunny Bay station --> then interchange trains to the Disneyland Resort Line that will bring you straight to Disneyland station Exit A (32 minutes @ HK$17) --> take about 4 mins walk to the park entrance.

You can have your dinner at the Peak and stay there until to your preferred time in the evening before getting back to the hotel.

Here's how to get there:

* Getting from Mong Kok to Repulse Bay and Stanley (they've common public bus transport, bus nos. can be read on the links above):
Get into the Mong Kok MTR station --> take the Tsuen Wan Line train and get off Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit F (7 mins @ HK$4.6) --> walk about 6 mins to the TST Star Ferry Pier --> take the Star Ferry to Central Pier (9 mins @ HK$2.5) --> then walk about 5 mins to the Central Exchange Square (Bus Terminus) where you can find the bus going to Repulse Bay and Stanley.
