getting to Ngong Ping (Tung Chung MTR Station)

by May
(Singapore)

Hi, getting to Ngong Ping (Tung Chung MTR Station) needs HKD60 + HKD14, so it seemed more expensive than taking a taxi.

May I ask how much is taxi fare from Airport to Tung Chung Station? What colour taxi should we take, we have 4 adults?

Next, may I ask if there is any locker to rent for storing of luggage at Tung Chung Station or nearby vicinity?

Thank you n have a nice day. :)

We need help on how to maximize our 4 day vacation in Hong Kong, appreciate if you can help me with the Itinerary plan : )
by: Anonymous

We arrive at Hong Kong on June 21 and depart on June 25, both on early morning sched. So technically, we only have four days of trip and we want to make the most out of it.

From the airport , we go directly to the hotel (Kimberley Hotel) to have a quick nap. And will start the day hopefully by 8AM.
We plan to go to Ocean Park on the first day, then on the second day to Noah’s Ark, then 3rd day move to another hotel ( Disneyland Hotel) for the Disneyland tour of course. On the 4th day , since our flight back is still early morning of the 25th , wanted to spent the day exploring Ngong Ping. And there are other attractions that I also want to go like, Avenue of Stars, Victoria’s Peak, Aberdeen Fishing Village, Tsim Sha Tsui ( symphony of lights ) and go shopping in the bazaars. Given that can we all go those in our two days and plan it at night?
I just have the names of places I wanted to go but I really don’t have any idea on what way to go = D and will the airport allow early check in of things, we leave our things first before going to Ngong Ping, I don’t know let me know if this workable? = D
We don’t want to get lost , so please help …..

Please help on directions

We are four adults and two kids and it is our first time to visit Hong Kong. We will be arriving on 2012 May 10 at 1900 at the airport and intended to proceed immediately to our hotel at Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) area. Our itinerary is as follows:

Day 1 – Hotel Check-In
Can you suggest anything that we could do after checking in at the hotel? Possibly near the hotel and for the kids to enjoy. And shopping for the other adults?

Day 2 - Hotel to Ocean Park, then ride the Tram to the Peak. What do you think it is better to go first?

Day 3 - Disneyland up to Fireworks. Is there a ferry from Disneyland to TST after the fireworks?

Day 4 - Shopping up to Check Out. We intend also to go to Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car ride before proceeding to airport at 1600. Is this possible with the time available?

With the time available, do you think which day we can view the Symphony of lights?

Please help us go through Hong Kong with the directions based on our itinerary. We intend to maximize the use of the MTR. And what MTR entrance/exits we will be using.

Thank you so much.

Hi May,

I assume that you're referring to Airport Express train from Airport to Tsing Yi station (13 mins @ HK$60) and the MTR trains from Tsing Yi to Tung Chung (16 mins @ HK$11.9).

Yes, the route above is much expensive if compared to a taxi straight to Tung Chung MTR station from HK airport which is more direct and efficient. It is only about 12 mins drive @ HK$45.

Take the Lantau taxis (Blue) that serve all destinations in Lantau and the airport and much cheaper compared to other taxis.

The luggage lockers for rent is actually at Citygate Outlets which is adjacent to the Tung Chung MTR station (see the ff map)...

Hope this help and have a great stay in the City of Life!
