Ferry to Jiuzhou port from Kowloon

Hi,


I am planning to go for a day trip mainly just to eat and shop in Zhuhai since I will be in Hong Kong from 21st Oct onwards.

Could you advise if it's easier and more cost effective to take a direct ferry to Jiuzhou port from Kowloon as my hotel is there and then taxi down to Gongbei/Lotus road or should I look for a day trip tour when I arrive in Hong Kong?

Also, if I were to go on my own, is Zhuhai easy to navigate around and is it safe as I will be bringing my mom along as well.

Greatly appreciate if you could kindly advise soon.
