5 Days and 4 nights Trip to HK - suggestions please

by Anne

Hi! good day!

my family (me, husband & two kids (7 yrs & 3 yrs old) are going to HK this coming April 14 (arrival -10:35am HK) and we will be going back to Manila on April 18 (8:25am)

We will stay at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel on our first night for our daughters to really enjoy their Disneyland trip, just 1 night because it will be over our budget if we stay there for 4 nights.
But haven’t decided where to stay for the next 3 nights after Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, we don’t know where is the best place to stay in terms of convenience, price and accessibility to the attractions, shopping destinations and airport. Any suggestions? Can you also please help us on our itinerary for our 5-day trip? (If possible, can you please recommend us some shopping hot spot that we can also bring our daughters? This is our first time in HK and it would be a great help for us.

We really hope that we could have enough time to explore the nightlife, island and tourist attractions in HK during our trip.

Thanks a lot!!! Hope to hear from you soon! God bless.

Day 3 - April 16:
Ngong Ping 360 --> Citygate Outlets --> Victoria Peak --> Street market shopping

* From BP international hotel to Ngong Ping.
Get into the Jordan MTR station --> Tsuen Wan Line train to Lai King station --> interchange trains to Tung Chung Line to Tung Chung station (36 mins @ HK$14.1) and take Exit B --> 4 mins walk to the NP 360 Cable Car terminal --> cable car to Ngong Ping (25 mins @ HK$125 - round trip) --> explore Ngong Ping

Cable car get back to Tung Chung --> walk 3 mins and do shopping / dining at Citygate Outlets.

* From Tung Chung to Victoria Peak - pls follow link and scroll down to the post dated Apr 15, 2011 to read the rest of travel instruction.

Day 4 - April 17: The initial itinerary above seems ok, just follow the links to read getting there instruction.

Day 5 - April 18:
From the hotel, I would suggest you take the free Airport Express Shuttle Bus (you must have an Airport Express train ticket to avail this service) route K4 to Kowloon station --> Airport Express to Airport (21 mins @ HK$90).

Another option is by Bus A21. From the hotel, walk 3 mins to along Austin Rd and little right at Nathan Rd where you can find the A21 bus stop (no.7) located at 213 Nathan Road outside Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station. Get into the bus for about an hour trip to Airport (Ground Transportation Centre) @ HK$33.

Hi Anne, hope it still help your on-going stay in Hong Kong.

To know the location of BP International hotel and also with travel instruction to and from HK airport, pls follow this link. The hotel is about 3 mins walk to the Jordan MTR station Exit C2.

Day 2 - April 15:
Ocean Park --> Hotel check in --> Ocean Park --> TST promenade to visit Avenue of Stars and watch the Symphony of Lights show.

Actually, to save time, I think it is better for you to go straight to Ocean Park from Disney Hollywood Hotel specially if you travel light. As the park will open at 10:00am and usually the check-in time for hotels is after 2:00pm.

Anyway, here are the efficient travel instruction:

* From Disney's Hollywood Hotel to Ocean Park.
Shuttle bus to Disneyland Resort station (free) --> MTR train to Sunny Bay station --> interchange to Tung Chung Line and get off at Hong Kong station --> walk to the adjacent Central station --> Island Line train and get off at Admiralty station (41 mins @ HK$21.7) and then take Exit B --> bus 629 to Ocean Park entrance (25 mins @ HK$10.6).

* From Disney's Hollywood Hotel to B P International.
Shuttle bus to Disneyland Resort station (free) --> MTR train to Sunny Bay station --> interchange to Tung Chung Line and get off at Lai King station --> interchange trains to the Tsuen Wan Line and get off at Jordan station (38 mins @ HK$17).

* From BP international hotel to Ocean Park.
Get into the Jordan MTR station --> Tsuen Wan Line train to Admiralty station (6 mins @ HK$8.1) --> bus 629

* From Ocean Park to TST promenade via Star Ferry.
bus 629 back to Admiralty --> Island Line train and get off at Central station --> walk to the adjacent Hong Kong station and take Exit F (10 mins 3.8) --> 5 mins walk to Central Pier no.7 --> Star Ferry to TST (9 mins @ HK$2.5) --> walk along TST promenade.
