4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS ITINERARY

by Thess

My husband and I with our 5 yrs. old daughter will be arriving in HK on Aug 5 at 1PM and will go straight to Novotel Citygate. Kindly assist on how to go about during this time with transport suggestion and approximate travel time:

Aug 5 - 3PM outlet city mall or night market(what would you suggest)
- Victoria Harbour/Victoria Peak (symphony or lights)or on 7 August

Aug 6 - whole day in disneyland (no problem there)

Aug 7 - Ngong Ping Cable(Buddha, Village, and show)
Victoria Harbour/Victoria Peak (symphony or lights). If this trip has been done on Aug 5, where would you suggest us spend the rest of the day

Aug 8 - C/o from Hotel (where would you suggest us to go in the morning)

Just want to enjoy the whole trip with the family with less stress on trying not to get lost and loose time.

Any suggestions on places where we can have a new and enjoyable meal.

Best regards,

First of all let me just say that the itineraries you have made are very detailed and that's why I hope I can ask you to do the same for me.

I arrive in Hongkong with my daughter and mom at around 10 am. Hopefully we can check in at novotel right away. I'm planning to do ngong ping after lunch, but then i don't know what else and where to go.

Second day i plan to be on disneyland the whole day. I will be transferring to disney hollywood hotel. you think i can manage that?

third day i check out at 11 am but my flight leaves 730. what to do with my spare time and where can i leave our things?

thanks hope you can help out!

Hello :)

Here's my suggested itinerary.

may17: Ocean Park--> Ladies' Night Market

Getting to Ocean Park: Get to Tung Chung MTR station. Take the Tung Chung Line trains all the way to the last station, Hong Kong station. Walk to the adjacent Central station. Interchange trains, take the Island Line going to Chai Wan and get off at Admiralty station, exit B (40 minutes @ HK$18.8). Upon exit, get on the special CityBus CTB 629 for about 25 minutes bus ride @ HK$10.6, an express bus travel between Admiralty (west) and Ocean Park (main entrance).

Getting to the Ladies' Night Market from Ocean Park: Get back to Admiralty MTR Station, look for the Tsuen Wan Line trains heading toward Tsuen Wan but you need to get off at Mongkok station Exit D3. Only 10 minutes train travel, HK$9.9. Follow directional signs from the station.

may18: Jumbo Kingdom--> HK Museums--> Sky 100--> DHL HK Balloon

Getting to Jumbo Kingdom: take MTR trains toward Hong Kong station and take Exit D (29 minutes @ HK$18.8). Take the Bus 70 from the Exchange Bus Terminus to Aberdeen terminus, cross the highway via subway (pedestrian tunnel), turn right and walk to dock for free boat ride to the floating restaurant. Or, take the Bus 75 from Exchange Square Bus Terminus to Shum Wan Shuttle Ferry pier for the free boat ride.

Getting to the Museums: get back to Central MTR station, take the Tsuen Wan Line trains and get off at Tsim Sha Tsui station (6 minutes @ HK$8.1). Follow directional signs from the station or read directions from the link above.

Sky100 is located at 100th floor of Hong Kong's tallest (total height = 484 mts) building, the International Commerce Center (ICC) in Nga Cheung Road & Austin Road West, Kowloon, Hong Kong

Getting to Sky 100: Take the Tsuen Wan Line trains going to Central from Tsim Sha Tsui station. Interchange trains at Central station, take the Tung Chung Line and get off at Kowloon station, exit D2 (20 minutes @ HK$3.8).

Getting to DHL Balloon from Sky 100: From Kowloon Station, walk through Exit D. Then cross the road until you see the Western Harbour Crossing Bus Station. Then turn left and walk through the bicycle path before reaching the Balloon site. (From the MTR to the site is just a 10-15-minute walk)

may19: Ngong Ping 360

Getting to Ngong Ping, please refer to the above post.

Enjoy!

3D2N Itinerary

Hi, my family (2 Adults / 2 kids) are going to HK on May 17-19.

We arrive at 8:20AM on May 17 and will take the 1735 flight back on May 19. We plan to stay at the Novotel Citygate.

This is our 3rd time in HK and we have seen Ocean Park, Disneyland, Victoria Peak, Avenue of Stars among others. This time we would like to go back to Ocean Park, see other sights and do some (inexpensive) shopping.

Can you recommend an itinerary as well as advise on most economical (pls provide cab and other transpo options) and safest way to go these sites. Please include directions and estimated cost of transportation.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

Aug 7, Sun: Ngong Ping 360 and the rest of Lantau island tourist attractions for a whole day activity then a shopping and dining finale at Citygate Outlets.

Here's how to get there: Take about 4 minutes walk from Novotel Citygate hotel to the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Tung Chung Terminal (pls refer to the map above for specific location). Take the cable car 25 minutes stunning ride to Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Ngong Ping Terminal (I recommend you buy the round trip ticket for HK$115). Then walk to the nearby Giant Buddha, and other attractions that surely fulfilled your day.

Aug 8, Mon: Check out from hotel. I'm not sure what time you check out and the time of your departure.

Most of the attractions in Hong Kong starts at 10:00am so there's nothing much you can do before that time. In the morning, I suggest you go to the mall nearby and try the "Yam - Cha" breakfast, this is very popular in most of Hong Kong restaurants. Taste a local culture by trying some Hong Kong's traditional delicacies such as the popular tasty "dan tat" (sweet egg tart), fresh "bo law bao" (pineapple bun), noodles with plump "won ton" (shrimp dumpling), and the delicious "siu mei" (roasted meat).

Here's also one thing to consider in your departure day if your flight is still in the evening to fully utilized your time while in HK.

You can check out from the hotel in morning. Take the MTR trains to Kowloon station, Kowloon or Hong Kong station, Hong Kong island and buy an Airport Express train ticket to HK airport (21 mins @ HK$90 or 24 mins @ HK$100 respectively). Now you can check in your luggage and then board the Airport Express train later (maybe 3 hrs before your flight schedule). You need to collect your boarding pass later upon arrival at the airport.

The free In-town Check-in services is an add-on privileges and complimentary services only for Airport Express passengers. Please contact your airline for this service if you plan to take it.

After checking in, you can now enjoy your remaining time and you may spend it to visit Ocean Park or a visit to a couple of popular Hong Kong museums.

Have a wonderful stay in Hong Kong!

Here's my personal itinerary suggestion for you to consider:

Aug 5, Fri: On the day of your arrival, I would suggest taking a taxi straight to Novotel Citygate Hotel Hong Kong from airport as I'm sure you're bringing along some luggage. You can take the Urban taxis (Red), New Territories (N.T.) taxis (Green), or Lantau taxis (Blue, much cheaper and recommended) that serve specifically all destinations in Lantau and the Chek Lap Kok airport (about 10 minutes travel @ HK$40 + HK$5 /pc of luggage).

From hotel --> Victoria Peak --> bus 15C to Central Ferry Pier --> Star Ferry ride to TST --> visit Avenue of Stars and watch the Symphony of Lights show at 8:00pm --> back to hotel

Here's how to get there:

* Getting to the Peak from Novotel Citygate hotel:
Walk about a minute or two from your hotel to the Tung Chung MTR station crossing the N.Lantau highway thru footbridge (refer to map above). Take the Tung Chung Line train all the way to the last station, Hong Kong station (29 minutes @ HK$18.8) and then take Exit A1. Take a taxi to the Peak Tram (about 5 minutes @ HK$20).

Or, upon arrival at Hong Kong station, walk to the adjacent Central station and take Exit J2, then walk about 12 minutes to the Peak Tram Lower terminal at Garden Road, Central. Please click here to see walking route map (scroll to the post dated "Feb 21, 2011" on that page).

Get into the Peak Tram terminal and take the thrilling Tram ride up to the Peak. The Peak offers stunning views specially during sunset and you may stay there until 7:00pm.

* Getting to Tsim Sha Tsui area from The Peak:
Take the Peak tram back to Lower Peak Tram terminal then walk to the nearby Peak Tram Bus terminus. Take the bus 15C (open-top bus, your kid surely love it) to Central Pier bus terminus (10 minutes @ HK$4.2) and then walk to the nearby Pier no.7. Take the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) Star Ferry pier then walk to your right along TST promenade to visit the Avenue of stars and to watch the Symphony of Lights.

* Getting back to Novotel Citygate hotel from Avenue of Stars:
Walk to the nearby TST MTR station and take the Tsuen Wan Line train heading to Tsuen Wan but you need to get off at Lai King station. Interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line and get off at Tung Chung station (38 minutes @ HK$14.1).

Aug 6, Sat: HK Disneyland visit for whole day.

Here's how to get there: Get into the Tung Chung MTR station and take the Tung Chung Line then get off at Sunny Bay station. Interchange to the Disneyland Resort Line trains to Disneyland station (18 minutes @ HK$11.9)
