3 days in hongkong

Hi..

We'll be in Hong Kong this coming November 20-23, our arrival in Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will be 1:00 am. Are we allowed to stay in the airport until 6-7 am? Were planning to book our hotel somewhere in Tsim Sha Tsui area and the check in time would be 2:00 pm. Just want to hear some suggestions on where to go first before heading to the hotel we have approximately 5 hours free. We'll be living in the hotel on 23rd and our flight will be 1:35 am on the 24th. Can you suggest for our itinerary? it would be a great help. Thank you so much and more power.=)

We can also go to Macau if time permits (do you recommend it?)

Thank you very much!

3 1/2 days in Hong kong and Macau
by: simplypritee

Me and my friend will be in HK around 10am on 12/05 and flight back in the Phil on 12/09 early morning. So roughly we have 3 1/2 days to spend our time.

We are going to stay somewhere in Tsim sha tsui.

We are planning to visit Disneyland, Ocean Park, Victoria Harbour, Ngong Ping 360, Avenue of Star, Victoria Peak and 1 day in Macau. And some time to do shopping if time will be enough.

If you can help us make our itineraries, it will be highly appreciated. Thank you! :-)

YES, visiting to Macau for one day is ok, click here for more info in getting to Macau. You can take the Ferry at Tsim Sha Tsui China Ferry Terminal to Macau Ferry Terminal situated at Canton Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong close to the Royal Pacific Hotel and Towers and The Gateway Towers.

Journey Time: Approximately 60-75 mins (Subject to Vessel Type)
Fare (weekdays): TST(HK) to Macau - Ordinary Class = HK$133.00 / Deluxe Class = HK$ 238.00; Macau to TST(HK) - Ordinary Class = HK$140.00 / Deluxe Class = HK$ 245.00;

Visiting to Disneyland before heading to the airport is ideal because those places are situated in same island (Lantau island). Disneyland opening hours is normally from 10:00am to 7:30pm but they will extend up to 11:00pm during peak days.

I assumed that you're coming with your family or friends so taking taxi from Disneyland to the airport should be your best option. Taxi's fare is about HK$115 excluding luggage which they also charge about HK$10 / pc. Whereas if you take the MTR trains, it cost HK$60 / person.

Please read here more info in getting to Hong kong International Airport from HK Disneyland by public transport.

thank you

Thank you so much for your reply. Can I ask some more questions? I forgot to mention that were planning to go Macau. Can i put day 3 for Macau which is Nov.22 and for our last day to disneyland since our departure will be 1:35 am of Nov.24...were planning to spend our last day in disneyland after that heading straight to the airport. Is it possible? Until what time we're allowed to stay in the Hong Kong Disneyland and how to get back to the airport? What are we going to take by taxi? bus? or mtr? thank you so much for the site..its a great help especially for those first timers in hongkong..more power..=)

There is NO problem in staying at the Hong Kong airport overnight. The airport offers almost everything to its waiting passengers to make their stay much comfortable. Don't worry, inside the airport has stores that open 24 hrs, internet kiosk, a free Wi-Fi internet connectivity for your laptop computer or smart phone, and a lot more.

Most of the popular attractions in Hong Kong like Disneyland or Ocean park opens around 10:00 in the morning, there's nothing much you can do earlier than that and also, those attractions would be good for a whole day activity.

Here's my itinerary recommendation for your almost 4 days visit to Hong Kong.

Day 1, 20 Nov.: Since you are going to book your hotel somewhere at TST area, you can utilize your morning free time to try the Star Ferry. A Star Ferry ride is a must-try for any visitor in Hong Kong where you will see the spectacular Victoria harbour and the HK skyline. It is a well-known icon for Hong Kong. You can do these event during the rest of the day (HK attractions close to your hotel); visit Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui promenade, and Victoria Peak.

Must Try: Trams, Peak Tram, and the Star Ferry.

Day 2, 21 Nov.: Ocean Park. This is one of the most popular attraction in Hong Kong aims to combine education with entertainment and known as one of largest amusement park in Asia.

Day 3, 22 Nov.: Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Also a very popular attraction in HK that offers immersive, unique Disney experiences for all families, generations and ages to enjoy. It is one of only five locations in the world that is home to a Disney themed park and the many Disney characters that are beloved the world over, such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Stitch and Buzz Lightyear.

Day 4, 23 Nov.: Hong Kong Shopping. This is your chance to discover the diverse shopping experience that makes Hong Kong as the Asia's Shopping Paradise! I suggest you try Harbour City which is located in Tsim Sha Tsui could be close to your hotel.

Also maybe you can spare sometime for the street markets where bargaining is an inherent part of shopping being able to haggle for a good price which is also a good way to ensure you are getting a good price.

Bargaining is a popular method of shopping in Hong Kong.

Hope this help and enjoy your stay in Hong Kong.
