2 1/2 days Macau and 2 1/2 days Hongkong Vacation during Holy Week

by Albert
(Philippines)

Good day. May we ask your help in fixing up our itinerary for our coming Macau & Hongkong trip this April 4 to 8, 2012? Me, my wife, and 2 teenage kids have been to Hongkong several times but 1st time in Macau. During our previous trips to Hongkong, we visited the Avenue of Stars, then the Science and Space Museums. Our kids were much younger then, so they were so exited as was I.

Hongkong is really one of the favorite vacation spots in the world no matter how many times you have seen it. What is most amazing is the transportation system, and how easy it is to get around. During our next 2 visits to Hongkong, our kids could already be left alone by themselves and commute via the MTR. That's why we decided to go back again this Holy Week. In addition, we decided to include Macau in our itinerary because we've never been there. Rather than go separately to these 2 great places, we thought of combining them into one.

For this year's trip, I booked online but couldn't find a flight to Macau, so I booked a flight to Hongkong instead.

We will arrive in HKIA on April 4 at around 8 am. then plan to take the airport shuttle then the ferry to Macau. Our hotel in Macau is the Casa Real Hotel. In Macau, we plan to visit all the famous casinos and sights. Please give us tips on the best to see. Then, on April 6, we will take the ferry to transfer to Hongkong. Our hotel is the Eaton Smart Hotel. May I know the best way to reach our hotel from the ferry terminal? Also, we plan to visit the Peak, Cat Street, and Stanley Market in HK Island, since we were not able to see much of HK Island when we went there in 2010.

Is it ok to go there first after we check in at our hotel? I am also interested to see the Thousand Buddha monastery, but don't know how to get there. On Day 2, we plan to shop around Nathan Road and Mongkok, Fa Yuen, then Temple Street. On Day 3, Easter Sunday, can you suggest the nearest Catholic Church from our hotel and how to get there? Since our flight leaves later afternoon, we still have time for some last-minute shopping. Hongkong is a great place and I can't wait to go there again. Thank you and best regards!

Albert, Tonet, Bianca and Vincent(Philippines)
