Hi,

I will be travelling with 3 kids below 12 to Hong Kong early March 2011 & would like to know what the available options are to get to Royal Plaza Hotel in Mongkok from the airport, We will arrive around noon.

Royal Plaza Hotel Hong Kong is a 5-star hotel located at 193 Prince Edward Road West, Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Adjacent to the Mong Kok East MTR station Exit D.

Here are the most efficient ways to travel from HKIA to Royal Plaza Hotel.

By Airport Express Trains + MTR trains:

Take the Airport Express trains to Tsing Yi MTR station. Interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line trains heading towards Hong Kong station but you need to get off at Nam Cheong station. Interchange trains to the West Rail Line trains towards Hung Hom station and get off on that station. Finally, interchange trains to the East Rail Line MTR trains and get off at Mong Kok East station (42 minutes @ HK$60) then take exit D. Children gets half fare.

Alternatively, you can take the Prince Edward MTR station Exit B2, only 33 minutes @ HK$60 but you need to walk about 10 minutes to the hotel entrance which I do not recommend as you come along with kids.

By Taxi:

Taking a taxi is a little bit expensive than trains but it is also recommended in your situation as you travel along with children.

Take any red taxi (Urban taxi) from the airport directly to your hotel. The taxi fare is about HK$240 with approximately 40 minutes drive. Please be aware that you need to pay extra on your luggage when placed at the taxi baggage compartment with about HK$5 - 10 / pc. There is NO limit in the number of luggage as long as it can be accommodated in the cab.
