Bus 15C and the Peak Tram
We will be coming over from Tsim Sha Tsui by ferry. Before we head for the Peak, we would like to take a short ride on the tram. However we do not want to wander off too far from the route to Peak as we are unfamiliar with Hong Kong. Can you advise us what will be the best option?
Answer:
Actually, the Victoria Peak or simply the "Peak" can be reached through various options such as;
Peak Tram - town station at Garden Road in Central, few blocks behind the Bank of China Tower.
Bus No. 15 at Exchange Square bus terminus in Central.
Green minibus No. 1 at Star Ferry.
Taxi from Central would cost around HK$100.
And the best way to get there is by taking the Peak Tram. It is the shortest yet the most scenic route to the Peak. You don't have to worry about of getting lost or wander off as the Peak Tram have only two stations, from the Peak Tram lower station to the Peak station.
And here's how to get to the Peak Tram after getting off from the Star Ferry terminal.
Once you get off the Star Ferry coming Tsim Sha Tsui, the Bus 15C terminus is right there.
Start your tour to the Victoria Peak by taking the open-top bus to the Peak Tram.
Daily: 10:10 am to 11:55 pm (from Garden Road Tram Terminus)
Daily: 10:00 am to 11:45 pm (from Central Star Ferry)
Every 10-20 minutes
HK$3.20 (Air-Conditioned or Open Top)
Get off from the Bus 15C at the Peak Tram station.
Take the Peak Tram that will take you up to the "Peak".
It takes you up an incline as steep as one in two, almost perpendicular at some points. Buildings look like they are leaning at a 45-degree angle. They just look like a jungle of buildings with extreme density. Its going to be an unforgettable experience.
Daily 07:00 to midnight, every 10-15 minutes
Single journey: HK20
Return journey: HK$30
Here's more info about the "The Peak" and how to get there.
Happy trip and good luck!
