Transport from Hong Kong Central to Zhuhai

To take a ferry (boat) from Hong Kong to Zhuhai, I have 2 choices, go to Macau Pier or direct to Ziuzhou Pier in Zhuhai. As I will be staying next to the Gongbei Underground Mall shopping area, I have been advised to go to Macau as my hotel will be just at the border.

However, if I were to go via Macau, I will have to go through 2 immigration check points whereas if I go direct to Zhuhai, I need only have to go through 1 immigration check point. In both cases, I will still have to take a taxi from the piers to Gongbei.

Which would you recommend?

It is more economical and efficient to take this route - HK --> Macau --> Zhuhai

Here's some comparison to consider:

For HK --> Macau --> Zhuhai route:
* Ferry ticket at HK-Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan (economy class): HK to Macau Ferry Terminal, Macau = HK$160
* Ferry journey time = 55 minutes
* Taxi from Macau Ferry Terminal to Macau-Zhuhai border = 15 minutes @ HK$30
* The Gongbei underground mall is located just right after exit from Macau-Zhuhai border.

For HK --> Zhuhai route (direct):
* Ferry ticket at HK-Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan (economy class): HK to Jiuzhou Port, Zhuhai = HK$190
* Ferry journey time = 70 minutes
* Taxi from Jiuzhou Port to Gongbei underground mall = 20 minutes @ 50 RMB (China Yuan).

BTW, crossing to the borders in getting to mainland China like Zhuhai or Shenzhen is now very efficient, way much better compared to 5 yrs ago. Please prepare your China Visa in your country before your trip.
