Public transpo for HK and Macau trip

by Maggie

Hi, we will be visiting HK and Macau this coming Sep 22-26. Would like to ask for your help on which public transpo to use

Here's our itinerary:
1. Day -1 Macau: will it be ok to onboard via China Ferry (since we are located at Nathan Road) for our HK-Macau trip then onboard via different ferry on our way back (Macau-HK) since we plan to get a midnight trip back to HK and China Ferry is only up to 10:30PM

In Macau we will mostly be taking the complimentary bus of the hotels and visit the ruins, Senado, macau tower and more depending on our time.

2. Day 2 - Disneyland. What MTR will we take from City Econo Hotel? From Disney - we will probably visit the Avenue of Stars

3. Day 3 - Ngong Ping, Peak, shopping
4. Day 4 - will you recommend that we take the tour bus just to get a glimpse of the rest of HK? or do you have other recommendations? :). We need to be at the airport by 9PM

Thank you in advance and hope to hear from you soon

Hi Maggie,

Here's my comments and suggestion for your HK - Macau visit.

Day 1. Yes, it is ideal to get a ferry at TST for your HK-Macau trip, please click here to read instruction.

And yes, you take the ferry from Macau to the Hong - Macau Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan even late at night as they do have a 24hrs ferry service between HK and Macau. Please click here to read a getting there instruction to the ferry terminal.

Day 2. City Econo Guesthouse is conveniently located at 5-6/F Cumberland House 227 Nathan Road, Jordan, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is about 4 minutes walk to the Jordan MTR station (Exit A) along Nathan Rd.

The most efficient way to travel to HK Disneyland from City Econo Guesthouse is thru MTR trains:
Get into the Jordan MTR station and take the Tsuen Wan Line train and get off at Lai King station --> interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line and get off at Sunny Bay station --> interchange trains to the Disneyland Resort Line to Disneyland station (36 minutes @ HK$17).

If you want to visit the Avenue of Stars from HK Disneyland, just follow the train route above in reverse order and get off at Tsim Sha Tsui station (instead of Jordan station) --> then walk few minutes to the TST promenade where you can find the Avenue of Stars and also a vantage place to watch the Symphony of Lights show at 8:00pm.

Day 3. Here's the most efficient way to travel to Ngong Ping from City Econo Guesthouse:
Get into the Jordan MTR station and take the Tsuen Wan Line train and get off at Lai King station --> interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line and get off to that last station then take Exit B (36 minutes @ HK$14.1) --> walk few minutes to the nearby NP 360 Cable Car terminal --> take the Cable Car to Ngong Ping (25 minutes @ HK$115 - round trip ticket) --> explore NP --> take the cable car back to Tung Chung --> shopping at nearby Citygate Outlets.

Getting to the Peak from Tung Chung, you can follow the travel instruction written in here.

From the Peak, perhaps you can get back to Kowloon and do street market shopping specially to the places that are very close to City Econo Guesthouse like the Temple Street Night Market or the Ladies' Market.

Day 4. Yes, it is worth to try the open-top bus tour "Big Bus Sightseeing Tour of Hong Kong" specially the Kowloon tour.
