(Malaysia)

Hi, its me again! Could you advise me on the itinerary for a 7 days 6 nights trip to Hk and Macau?

We are a group of 8 adults and will be staying at Casa Hotel at Yau Ma Tei. We will be arriving late (around 7-8pm) on September 6 and leaving in the evening on September 12.

We are planning to go over to Macau for a day trip only, as we've booked the hotel for 6 nites. Thanks. :D

Hello Joanne,

Here's my personal itinerary suggestion to maximized your 7 days and 6 nights HK - Macau visit:

September 6, Tue: HK airport --> Casa Hotel --> Street Market shopping.

Take the bus CTB A21 from the Airport GTC to bus stop no.9 located at 514 Nathan Road. Check-in to the hotel and then proceed to Street Market shopping, less than 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel is the Ladies' Market and Temple Street Night Market.

September 7, Wed: Casa hotel --> Ngong Ping 360 --> HK Disneyland (stay up to 9:00pm to watch the fireworks show) --> back to hotel.

* Getting to Ngong Ping from Casa hotel. Get into the Yau Ma Tei MTR station thru Exit C which is just steps away from the hotel. Take the Tsuen Wan Line train going to Tsuen Wan and get off at Lai King station. Interchange trains to Tung Chung Line going to Tung Chung and get off right there (34 minutes @ HK$14.1) and then take Exit B. Walk about 4 minutes and follow directional signs towards the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car terminal. Take the cable car to Ngong Ping (25 minutes @ HK$115 for round trip ticket).

* Getting to HK Disneyland from Ngong Ping travel instruction can be read in here (post dated "May 29, 2010").

September 8, Thu: Casa hotel --> Ocean Park --> The Peak --> Star Ferry to TST promenade --> Avenue of Stars and Symphony of Lights --> Food and bars at Knutsford Terrace in TST --> back to hotel

* Getting to Ocean Park from Casa hotel. Get into the Yau Ma Tei MTR station and take the Tsuen Wan Line train going to Central station and get off at Admiralty station (8 minutes @ HK$9.9) and then take Exit B. Upon exit, follow the the travel route instruction in here (post dated "May 17, 2011") for the route; Admiralty --> Ocean Park --> Peak --> Avenue of Stars at TST.

* Getting to Knutsford Terrace from Avenue of Stars is quick by taxi, about 7 minutes @ HK@25. Or, it is about 15 minutes walk along Nathan Road then turn right into the Kimberly Road and then about 3 minutes walk up to the left.

From airport to Hotel
by: Joanne

Hi, thanks for the great itinerary...its really helpful!

Would it be better to take the bus or the MTR from airport to hotel on 6 Sept?

Re: HK Airport to Casa Hotel
by: HKinsider Don

Bus in Hong Kong specially those that have routes between HK airport to the city is very comfortable and the most economical way of public transport in HK.

Considering that there is a bus stop from airport located very close to your hotel, that is why I recommend taking the bus.

Taking the trains is much better, faster, but the fare is little bit more expensive, plus a hassle during train interchange specially travelling along with some luggage.

Anyway, if you opt to take the trains, please click here to read the most efficient route from HK airport to Casa hotel.

Hi Rose,

Here's my itinerary suggestion to maximize your stay in HK and Macau:

Day 1: Disneyland (don't miss the fireworks show at 7:00pm) --> TST for check in at Chungking Mansions.

Actually, you can have it in reverse order. You can go straight to HK Disneyland from the HK airport and just leave your thing at Disneyland and then do hotel check in the evening.

Day 2: Ocean Park --> Star Ferry ride from Central to TST --> Avenue of stars + Symphony of Lights show.

Day 3: Noah's Ark --> NP 360 cable car to Ngong Ping --> Citygate Outlet shopping

Day 4: HK Museums --> The Peak

Day 5: Wetland Park --> HK DHL Balloon --> street market shopping

Day 6: Macau --> Macau casinos --> back to HK at night

Day 7: Final shopping at nearby shopping malls --> well-known dining place nearby --> airport and prepare for departure

Note that Chungking Mansions and Mirador Mansions are both located in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) and are adjacent to each other, pls follow the following links to read detailed travel instruction between these places and to the most of popular HK attractions;

* How to get to Disneyland from Chunking Mansion

* Getting to Ocean Park from Tsim Sha Tsui
