We will be going to Macau after we land on HKIA and we will be staying there for 4 days then we will go back to HK and stay for another 4 days.

What are the cheapest hostels or hotels from both places.

The most efficient way when going to Macau from Hong Kong International Airport is thru Ferry transit at the airport Skypier.

Upon arrival at HKIA, you do NOT need to go to the immigration counters and to claim your baggage but instead, proceed to the Transfer Area E2 (just follow directional signs at HK airport) and then purchase a Macau Ferry ticket also present your baggage tag if you have check-in baggage (issued when you check-in at airport of origin - Philippines) at the Ferries to Mainland/Macau Ticketing counter --> Scan your ferry ticket at the ferry boarding entrance to check your baggage status which will be collected in when you arrived in Macau --> Board the Automated People Mover to SkyPier --> Board the ferry to Macau --> Prepare your passport and go through immigration / custom formalities at Macau.

Ferry fares: HKIA To Macau Taipa
Adult: Economy Class = HK$215; Super Class = HK$315
Child (2 to below 12 yrs old): Economy Class = HK$160; Super Class = HK$235
Child ( below 2 yrs old): Economy Class = HK$108; Super Class = HK$158

Ferry Service hours: 9:15 am to 10:00 pm

There are lot of cheap hostels that can be found in Hong Kong. Some of most popular hostels are the ones in Mirador Mansions and Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui area. Disadvantage, because they're popular, they're quite crowded.

Most hostels in HK have the same in quality, size and price. Rooms are quite small with a small CR but are usually equipped with air-condition and TV. The only advantage of other hostels is their location and I always recommend hostels somewhere in Tsim Sha Tsui as follows;

Taisan Guesthouse
Single Room = HK$280; Double Room = HK$380

Golden Crown Guesthouse
Single Room = HK$280; Double Room = HK$300

Hop Inn Hostel
Single Room = HK$380; Double Room = HK$480
