Getting a VISA at the Hong Kong / China borders to visit at mainland China is quite strict at this time so I would recommend to secure your China VISA at your country (need to go to China Embassy at India) before your trip.

The most efficient route in getting to Shenzhen from Noah's Ark is by taking the shuttle bus (please inquire your hotel for specific details) from Park Island Bus Terminus to Tsing Yi Railway Station (about 10 minutes @ HK$9.5).

When you get to the Tsing Yi Railway Station, take a short walk to the nearby Tsing Yi Bus Terminus and then take the bus KMB 279X that will bring you to Sheung Shui (MTR) Railway station. Bus travel time is 39 minutes @ HK$13.2

Upon getting at Sheung Shui Railway station bus stop, nearby is the Sheung Shui MTR train station.

Get into the Sheung Shui MTR station and take the East Rail Line trains heading to Lo Wu station ( 6 minutes @ HK$19.5) if you'd like to proceed at Luohu, Shenzhen or take the trains heading to Lok Ma Chau station (8 minutes @ HK$19.5) if wanted to go directly at Futian, Shenzhen.

Please view route map here of Sheung Shui to Lo Wu / Lok Ma Chau MTR stations and read more information.

Before the 2008 Olympic Games, YES, getting a VISA at the borders in your way to mainland China prior to China immigration is quick and easy.

Before, I could see the booths or counters intended for that purpose.

They've pulled out those counters during that event and until now, it is not restored yet.

Shenzhen Visas
by: Mike

With a British Passport I got a five day visa for Shenzhen last week in less than five minutes at the LoWu border. It is valid for Shenzhen ONLY. I left Shenzhen from a different border point with no problems at all.

I believe it is available to most passport holders but there are exceptions; India and South Africa for example. South African passport holders cannot get ANY visa for China anywhere other than in South Africa.
