Hongkong to Windows of the World

by Kris Mora
(New Zealand)

Hi,

I am stopping over in Hongkong for a few days on a New Zealand passport. From Hongkong, I would like to visit Windows of the World in Shenzhen via train just for a day. Returning to Hongkong at night after the show.

My question is, do I need to apply for a Chinese tourist visa just to visit Windows of the World? Or do they just put a special stamp on your passport when you get there? Do I need to pay for this/how much?

Thanks for your reply.

Hello Leen,

YES, definitely, you need a China Visa for entering mainland China like windows of the world in Shenzhen.

To avoid any hassle, apply for a China Visa in your country before you travel.

Hello Selle,

Yes, you need a China VISA before you can enter in mainland China like Shenzhen.

You need to get your visa at any Chinese Embassy in Philippines. Though you can apply a China Visa in Hong Kong but it is not advisable as it will take 2 - 3 days to release and not 100% guaranteed that you'll get a visa.

Hello Kris,

Yes, New Zealand passport holders are required to secure a tourist visa when visiting to Mainland China like Shenzhen. I suggest you get your China Visa in your country prior to your trip. It may take a few days to get a China VISA if you get it in New Zealand consulate office in Hong Kong.

Basically, you can apply for a single entry China Visa that would cost around $100.

* Getting to Shenzhen from Hong Kong or vice versa.

Upon exit at China immigration in Luo hu, nearby you'll find the Luo hu Metro train subway station. Just take the Luo Bao Line train and get off at Window of the World "She Jie Zhi Chuang" station. Train travel time is about 31 minutes @ RMB5.
