Hongkong 4d-3n

Hi,

1. Me and my friend will be travelling to HK on November 13-16. We will arrive at 9am in the morning and plans to go to Ocean park and some places such as Ngong Ping, Noah's Ark, Victoria Peak, Madame Tussauds and watch the Symphony of lights in the evening.

How do we get to Ocean park from Rambler Garden and from Symphony of lights back to our hotel? Is my itinerary possible, will we be able to visit these places on our first day?

2. Our second day is for city tour and HK Disneyland. Instead of joining our tour back to our hotel, we plan to go to causeway bay.

How do we get to causeway bay from Disneyland and from Causeway bay to our hotel? Are the trains still operating at 11pm? If not, what's the best advice for a commuter like us to get back?

3. This day is allotted for our Macau Trip.

From Rambler, what's the best way to go to ferry and vice versa? we plan to stay in Macau until 8pm, how do we go back to rambler garden from ferry?

Hope you could help me..

Jen

Hi Jen,

Rambler Garden hotel getting there detailed instruction can be read in here also with getting to Ocean Park.

The access point to and from the hotel is the Tsing Yi MTR station.

* From Tsing Yi to Disneyland. Get into the Tsing Yi MTR station --> take the Tung Chung Line train and get off at Sunny Bay station --> interchange trains to the Disneyland Resort Line to Disneyland station Exit A (16 mins @ HK$11.9).

* From Symphony of Lights / Avenue of Stars (TST promenade) to Tsing Yi. Get into the nearby Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) MTR station --> take the Tsuen Wan Line train and get off at Lai King station --> interchange trains to the Tung Chung Line and get off at Tsing Yi station (24 mins @ HK$8.4).

* Tsing Yi to Macau. I suggest that you take the ferries from Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan, Hong Kong island. Get into the Tsing Yi MTR station --> take the Tung Chung Line train all the way to Hong Kong station --> walk to the adjacent Central station --> take the Island Line train and get off at Sheung Wan Station Exit D (24 mins @ HK$11.8) --> upon exit, you'll find your way up to the ferry terminal.

In your first day, the attractions you've mentioned is very tight for a whole day activity as Ocean Park alone requires 1 day, Ngong Ping at least half day not to mention the different location of the said attractions.

A good day itinerary would be Ocean Park ==> The Peak ==> Avenue of Stars + Symphony of Lights ==> street market shopping. Please click here to read some information about this route.

Or, Ngong Ping ==> Citygate Outlets shopping ==> Disneyland ==> Causeway Bay.

Question: Hongkong 4d-3n
by: Jen

Hi DOn,

Would you give me an idea as to how much the taxi to Rambler Garden coming from Temple Street, cause we will do some shopping there after watching symphony of lights.? Also, do you think we can still go to Sky 428 / SKy 100?

Thanks Many!
Jen

Hello Jen,

A taxi from Temple Street Night Market straight to Rambler Garden Hotel is about 16 minutes drive @ HK$80.

The ICC's Sky100 will be closed at 10:00pm so I think you still have enough time if you wanted to go there after watching the Symphony of Lights show. It is only about 10 mins taxi from TST. Also from Sky100, another 10 mins taxi to Mong Kok or Jordan for night market shopping.

If you opt to go back to Rambler Garden hotel from Sky100, then here's how.
Get into the nearby Kowloon MTR station --> take the Tung Chung Line train and get off at Tsing Yi station (13 mins @ HK$8.4). Please refer to ff mtr route map.

Hi Don,

Please help, how do we get back to Rambler from CAuseway Bay? It's our agenda after Disney on our second day. The last hotel shuttle bus from Tsing Yi to Rambler is 7:15pm. But we intend to spend more shopping time in Causeway / Times SQ.

How much would a taxi cost or if there's another way through bus/MTR?

By the way, is MTR open 24 hrs?

Thanks again so much!

Hi Jen,

The train service hours at Tsing Yi station is from 05:49am to 01:13am. So taking the MTR trains should be fine once shopping is done.

So I would suggest you take the MTR train from Causeway Bay to Tsing Yi then a short taxi drive to the hotel if shuttle bus is not available.

Here's how. From TIMES SQUARE at Causeway Bay, get into the nearby Causeway Bay MTR station (thru Exit A) --> take the Island Line train and get off at Central station --> walk to the adjacent Hong Kong station --> take the Tung Chung Line train and get off at Tsing Yi station (28 mins @ HK$11.8).
