Hong Kong/Macau trip

Hi,

I will visit Hong Kong for 3 days this coming May.

I already have a complete itinerary for this trip. However, I do have an extra day to visit Macau.

Can anyone help me find the proper information on how to go to Macau?

I will be staying at Dorsett Far East hotel. Also, I've heard of the free shuttle buss from the ferry terminal to places of interest in Macau. Please help me on what to ride.

Lastly, I have another scheduled trip to Beijing two weeks later. I have an L single entry visa for this later trip. will my earlier trip to Hong Kong and Macau affect my Beijing tour with regards to my visa?

Thank you so much.

You'll be staying somewhere in Tsuen Wan, Kowloon, HK. Please follow this link to view detailed information about Dorsett Far East hotel location and getting there (scroll down further below on that page).

Getting to Macau from Dorsett Far East hotel most efficient route:

Dorsett Far East hotel --> Tsuen Wan MTR station --> Sheung Wan MTR station --> HongKong-Macau Ferry Terminal (Shun Tak Centre, Sheung Wan)

Take about 5 minutes walk from Dorsett Far East hotel to Tsuen Wan MTR station.

Here's the walking route map between Dorsett Far East hotel and Tsuen Wan MTR station Exit B2.

View Dorsett Far East hotel in a larger map

Get into the Tsuen Wan MTR trains and take the Tsuen Wan Line and get off at Lai King station. Interchange trains to Tung Chung Line going to Hong Kong station and get off to that station. Walk to the adjacent Central station and take the Island Line trains and get off at next station, Sheung Wan station then take Exit D towards Shun Tak Centre where the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal is located. Total train travel time is 30 minutes @ HK$11.5

Upon getting to Macau, you can take whatever shuttle bus available in your tour package otherwise, the ideal way of transportation is by taxi. Don't worry, Macau is a small place and getting to / from every point of attractions will take only minutes not hours unless you take the bus.

Your entry to Hong Kong and Macau will NOT affect your Beijing, China single entry L VISA as you did NOT enter into the mainland China yet.
