getting to hongkong and macau the first time

by nida

hi this is nida from the Philippines

it is our first time in hongkong and macau and we would like to make the most out of our trip. We would like to go in most tourist spots but we don't want to waste so much time getting lost so we've been planning this trip since October and so far these are what we've got:

day 1 ocean park, avenue of stars, symphony of lights

day 2 ngong ping, peak, madame Tussauds

day 3 disneyland and shopping centers that are still open after
disneyland

day 4 Macau

We hope somebody can comment and give us an advice regarding transportations, MTR Stations and exits to and from the most tourist attractions.

We will be staying at Metropark Kowloon Hotel at 75 Waterloo road.

please help us make our way. We are in a group of 8 pax.

Our trip will this coming april 29, 2012 - May 4, 2012.

thanks

Hello Nida,

First, please follow getting there instruction that you can read in this page (post dated Jun 28, 2011. The same instruction will apply in getting to the HK attractions from the "The Anne Black YWCA Guest House Hong Kong" and "Metropark Hotel Kowloon Hong Kong" as these hotels are located opposite to each other.

Here are my comments and suggestions to your initial itinerary to maximize your time in HK.

day 1 Ocean Park, morning until 4:30pm --> The Peak, until 7:00pm --> bus 15C to Central pier --> Star Ferry ride to Tsim Sha Tsui --> stroll along TST promenade and visit Avenue of Stars and then watch the Symphony of Lights that starts at 8:00pm --> Temple street night market shopping.

day 2 HK Disneyland, whole day with a fireworks show finale --> shopping at Causeway Bay area til 10:00pm

day 3 Noah's Ark in the morning --> Tung Chung for NP 360 cable car to Ngong Ping --> back to Tung Chung --> dining and shopping at Citygate Outlets --> Sky100 and/or DHL HK Balloon in Kowloon MTR station area --> Ladies' market shopping.

day 4 Macau whole with a visit to any of the fascinating Macau Casinos.

Please follow above links and scroll down to those pages to read detailed instruction on how to get there.
